Anyway, this is Barthmobile.com where heavy politics are not needed, wanted or usually tolerated. Let's move on to discussing important things like generators that won't start Formerly: 1997 Barth Monarch Now: 2000 BlueBird Wanderlodge 43' LXi Millennium Edition DD Series 60 500HP 3 stage Jake, Overbuilt bike lift with R1200GS BMW, followed by 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” |

Thank you Corey for the reminder. But... Can't we still admire a beautifully crafted, foreign built, coach that was built for 1.1 Million with a Chinese loan & our tax dollars without it getting political? I mean, I got my coach from the fact that New York State purchased a Barth on the taxpayers dime, and also my kids future earnings. Perhaps, like me, 13yrs in the future, someone will also pay $500 for their Prevost too. And, you really can't blame them for building a tank like that. For better or worse, depending on your political stripes, he is "The President Of The United States". It's not like he can ride the rails and wave out of the back of a Caboose anymore between stops. Hopefully this discussion can remain "On Point" and not delve into name calling. "Prince of Platitude", while tame by most names I've heard him called, is still name calling. Please Roger, for the sake of my sanity, I'm going to ask you to refrain from the "Name Calling" in the future. Obviously, because it is a Motorhome, and everything else I've said seems to be factual in nature, I won't "Censor" my response. Rusty, if you think I've crossed the line, please do your unpaid & thankless job and delete this. BTW: just as a matter of record... The Secret Service ordered two buses like the one Obama used this week. The other is for the eventual Republican Presidential nominee.

This is a good thing to remember when dealing in International affairs, "People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones". That sage advice works as well in the US as Canada, as Mexico......as Libya .....and so on. Back to the Prevost bus. Honestly, I can't imagine how it cost so little. It has to be armored, full of interesting comms and defensive weaponry. I'm thinking the bus shell was $1M and it's got $20M worth of cool gear built around it. At the risk of sounding like Dale on King of the Hill, I wonder if the President actually is transported in it. I'll bet it's a king size decoy! Stored at Area 51........ 5/10 Location: Big South Fork TN Member Since: 09-29-2009 Posts: 1312 | on a second thought - does he have to register that bus, pay highway use tax, IFTA, can he run taxfree diesel in it? How much does the driver earn (does he get paid by the mile and has to keep a logbook?) Does he ever get stopped at a weigh station (safety you know)? And more important - what kind of toiletpaper is he using? You know - to wipe up all that - but nonono I am not going politics. 1999 Bluebird Custom 33' 8.3 Cummins diesel pusher Former owner 1989 Barth Regal 25' |
