you have what i have - i did replace my master cylinder - i have 4 wheel disc brakes on mine and it stops very well - issues causing defective braking are easy to figure out if you dont just throw money at it - let me explain... the way it is now for some... mech: you have weak brakes cust: what causes this? mech: it could be a master cylinder cust: how much mech: 500 how it should be... mech: you have weak brakes cust: what causes this? mech: i need to diagnose it at 70 an hour to tell you for sure cust: ok - let me know what you find if you find yourself talking to the first mechanic you are talking to a parts changer - if you find yourself talking to the second mechanic, you are talking to a technician also, real technicians take pride in their diagnosis - they do not want to be wrong - they check it out completely what causes weak brakes in a hydro-boost system? air in system, defective master cylinder, swelling brake hoses, glazed brake pads, bad proportioning valve, bad hyd booster, bad pivot linkage, seized calipers on the sliders, etc... the technician will isolate, diagnose, research and then fix the problem - lets say after all this he states - bad master cylinder, the typical response from most people would be... can you believe that he charged me 570 for a master cylinder? lets say it was bad linkage that took 2 hours to find - the typical response from most people would be... can you believe he charged me 165 for a 25 pivot pin? steer yourself to a reputable technician and pay for proper diagnosis.

Add: Weak power steering pump, swelling P/S lines, grease/oil on pads, having been cursed by a VooDoo Priest, etc. As Bill said, it's not something where you should rely on speculation. Also, it's a good idea to list your coach's specs in your signature, so we'll know what is being dealt with.
