ARP fasteners
On another site talking about 8.2 diesel engine upgrade they mentioned as number 1 to replace ARP fasteners..with no results.

Wanna enlighten me?

Doug, what i know about the 8.2 isn't much. I understand they had head sealing problems, the do not overheat issue. ARP is a high quality, respected bolt and fastner company. I know replacing head bolts with ARP studs was to help the problem.

Remember when I stated that you can never overheat one of these? Detroit changed the headbolts from 14mm to 15mm because of constant warpage of these heads.

In the meantime, it's been reported that if your DD8.2 is still original, it might be a good idea to replace the 14mm bolts with another set of 14mm ARP fasteners.

I don't see anything wrong with doing this. I would suspect that you do one bolt swap out at a time.

Keep us posted as I have no direct knowledge of this... been awhile since I even touched an 8.2 engine.
