The nerve of you Dave - What were you thinking?

It just goes to show everyone here what kind of man you really are. Pointing people to that type of club - how dare you! (insert picture of man with stick poking a hornets nest) I mean, really!

You know who I really feel sorry for? I feel sorry for the people from the other site/organization who likes to come over here too. Imagine the grief they would get by saying anything nice about you?

Contrary to popular belief - Time doesn't heal all wounds!

I really want to make sure that everyone understands that the 3-4 people who are the leadership of the group are the ones who are probematic here.

I know that many of the regular contributors here are Rangers and I love you all. I have never met nicer people than the folks who attended that rally and I encourage all of you to join the Rangers and go to the rallys. You might find them a great time.

Deb and I would love to go to a Rangers rally if we were welcome there.

In fact Morrie who is the syssop of the other site is the nicest guy in the world. He does not support the direction of the Rangers as it pertains to this site and Morrie has contributed to this site and we love it when he does.

Have you ever noticed that the Barth Ranger officer elections occur only when the preferred members can attend?

After attending the rally that Dave mentioned, I considered trying to get more involved in the Rangers. They seemed like a good group of folks. In my opinion, the group was on the verge of a turn over. It seemed that many Rangers were considering selling. But, if the group was going to turn towards “younger” owners, some new leadership might help sustain the group.

It has been my experience that if a group remains dependent on one set of leadership for too long, then when that leadership has to depart, there is an enormous vacuum. Often the group will fold because no one wants to step forward and lead. Especially when there is a great chance of criticism from the group i.e., “So and so never did it that way…..” A group needs to develop a means for sustained leadership, which includes leadership turn over...

As I watched for notice of officer elections, it occurred to me that this was all orchestrated. It seems that elections were selected for particular Ranger gatherings, which in my opinion, had a higher chance of being attended primarily by the "inner circle". The end result is that Lee would be re-elected as president every time. So, why bother joining a group that really was not interested in new ideas and direction.

I do hope that the two groups come together. This is all about fellowship and friendship.

Dave was not directly involved in the actual purchase of my Bart, but he was the reason why I bought it.
After I've seen a Barth in a campground and all the strangers touring it, I Googled "Barth" and ended up on this site. I read all the info available and decided to buy one.
The problem was that, the Barth I saw seemed to be the only one on the road in my area.
So I contacted the owner and he agreed to sell it to me. He wanted to buy a 5th Wheel. Confused

So now I am the one who everybody ask for a visit of my Barth! Smiler

So thank you Dave for your site and your indirect involvement in my ownership of a Barth.

And I was going to scrap mine. Odd huh? If Google hadn't steered me here and this site wasn't around I might have followed thru on the teardown and eventual stripping of my coach.

To bring others up to speed, and to give you an insite into my thought process...

I was looking for a big diesel bus to redo. That was my first love. I never heard of Barth so didn't have a clue to its qualities.

After I inspected this broken down medical lab and realized it had some good bones I was starting to feel inclined to give "this rig" a makeover.

I stumbled onto this site and listened to Gunner, Dave, Bill h. and others. I saw some passion in their words. I kind of thought they were exaggerating a little bit. You know, I only drive a Barth because it's built like a plane, tank, bus, blah, blah, blah...

The overall tone was one of quality and pride in ownership. I liked the feel of this site and the people all seemed to be top class. In few words, "I felt at home". This site has that quality.

I went back and after looking thru the "red bag waste" and "gynecologist exam table" decided to redo mine. It was a mess. Doors ripped off, some cabinets torn down, paint splashed all over the place, torn up floor tiles, missing roof vent covered up with a lid from a garbage can. It also hadn't been moved in about two years.

Insert "the story" here.

On behalf of me and my Barth, Thank you Dave. You have touched more people then you can imagine.

Will you guys quit this cr*p. I take no responsibility other than the idea to start the site.

We have from the first day had great members who were not only more than willing to share their knowledge but to take the time to find info for people.

Then we have had an unending array of very talented people get involved. Ad a little humor, and look what you have

Then of course, you add the main ingredient, "The Barth coach" how could you fail..

By the way, I have only dumped one guy off of the site and here is the story, I have told some this already.

Some time back out of the blue I received an email which said, "Your website is boring, how would you like someone to spice it up?" I figured it was just some wierd porno come on, so I deleted the file.

A few days later a new guy who had a beautiful Regency came on board and immediately started disagreeing with everyone and just being over the top on everything.

I told the guy to cool it just a little bit, which he did for a while but then came back harder disagreeing and just having an angry outlook. I hated to, but i emailed him to tell him he was being booted. He said to me, "well hey, I sent you an email asking if you wanted me to spice thimgs up and I never heard from you so I figured it was all right." I thought, how wierd is that. So I asked him if he can play it down, and he said it was against the law for me to boot him because of his personality. I said "sue me" and booted him. I still see him on IRV2 sometimes.

Hmm, too bad that we all give you much more credit than that (and will continue to do so)! Big Grin

Seriously though Dave, without your ideas and forsight to start and maintain the forum in all its forms... many of us (myself included, although not an owner yet) wouldn't even know what a Barth is, and these recent accounts have plainly demonstrated. So I guess we all thank you whole-heartedly, and now let's get back to posting and be done gushing over Dave. Smiler
