Nice pictures and great commentary. Thanks for sharing. I have a question.
You carry your tire up there... loose? Does anyone else do this too? I would have thought that you had a tire hold down attached to it.

I was riding my motorcycle down Main St in Newport, NH when coming from the other direction I saw a Tractor Trailer bob-tailing. Something didn't look right and then I saw the spare tire bouncing along next to it coming right at me! The tractor hit a pot hole and it bounced just enough to dislodge the spare which apparently wasn't tied down. I made an evasive maneuver and got around the erratically bouncing tire, but when it turned to see its trajectory it was heading for a house with two small children playing outside. The tire literally bounced over them, hit the house caving the wall partially in, then ricocheted off the house, again just missing the children. I'm not sure what the force of a two hundred pound tire traveling thirty miles an hour is, but I was very relived it missed those kids. Having already admitted on this site that I lost a whole boat at a stoplight once, I'm guilty of challenging Murphy myself. Tie everything down, twice! No, chain it!! Just about 7 P.M. here in balmy south Florida. Although rain was predicted for this afternoon all we got were clouds, 74 degrees, no snow, no ice, but a fantastic turkey dinner, lots of love and friendship with relatives and neighbors. So here is wishing lots of the same to all of you.................... Former owner of "THE TOY" 1988 Barth Regal SE 33' Tag 1992 Barth Breakaway 32' 2005 Coachmen Mirada 32' DS

Carl, We got the rain, but balmy too, here in west central Florida. It was a great Christmas day and now New Year is just around the corner. Who can believe it's about to be 2010?!? Our Barth came with a spare tire on top with no tie downs and we've had one up there ever since. Never went nowhere no how before now, didn't even move, but it will be tied down from now on. I think that the bounce off our toad slowed it down. Betsy & Carl Feren Ms Idgie and April 1992 30' Barth Breakaway
