We have a member who is in the process of restoring their Barth. They've asked me to post their pictures for you to view. I'll go a step farther and ask you to comment on them and then try and guess who's coach we have here. Remember, you must comment on the photos, before you're eligible to guess who's coach this is.

If I ever tore anything down that far I'd never get it back together! I'll go with RP. 79 Barth Classic

Don't know who it is, we certainly have quite a few that are capable of this amount of tear down and rebuild. I can only say that I wish I could afford to get them to work on mine if it ever needed it as that is some fine work. The Old Man and No Barth |
Eleven years ago I had a Dodge Xplorer van that looked something like this before I started putting it back together. It was a project that got a little worse every time I unbolted something else. I did a lot of work on the Barth while I had it, but thank God I never had to tear it down like this. Looking at these photos makes my joints & muscles ache.

Those rocker boxes look like a later Gen V or VI, but the mech fuel pump scotches that. Maybe rocker boxes from a later model. The lack of an EGR means either old enough to be smog-exempt or in a non-smog inspection area. The round headlights and front access hatch make age a possibility. No more guesses, but another comment. How much easier could you make spray painting the heads of bolts than shoving the threaded shaft into a sheet of cheap thermax? BRILLIANT!! Ooh, nother clue! Drop rectangular hatch below the windscreen. Mid to late 70's? 79 Barth Classic

The pictures are great. You will need more than one album to to keep up with this restoration. My guess RP's Barth. Pictures look like Florida. His coach 79, meets the look in the pictures. Nick P.S. He can come help me any time.

Further investigation. It is a 1978 22 foot. The following posted by Richard 4/15/2006. "I am restoring a 1978 22' barth and would like to know if anyone out there would have the fold down dinette table or could tell me where to get one. Also would like to see some inside pictures of one to see what else is missing. Thank you, Richard & Robin" Nick

Yes, it is RP's Barth. Danny guessed it too soon. Have you been to Richard & Robin's house? http://barthmobile.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9331087061/m/...151029771#6151029771
