Those few of you who knew our Airedale, Hobbes, are invited to lift a glass to his memory this weekend.

He was a true RV and boondocking dog, equally at home in mountains or desert or in the Barth. He preferred the Barth to our immediately previous Southwind, as he could lie on the dash with his cat. He spent his final weeks in the forest he so loved. He will be sorely missed. We took him into Prescott for his final nap Wednesday.

A cougar almost got him this winter, but I couldn't protect him from the ravages of old age.

12 good years.

Never had the pleasure, but I'll still raise a glass to Hobbes, and to you for having the selflessness to do the right thing. It's not easy. Hopefully you can meet a new friend soon.

Thank you.

Our Siamese is Calvin. She is a girl, but right after finding her in the desert as a starving immature cat, the vet's assistant said she was a boy, so Calvin was a natural. Ten minutes later, the vet saw us, and told us he was a she, but it was too late. The name stuck.

Bill and Susan, sorry to hear about Hobbs, we were glad that we met him. We had to put Dexter down 2 years ago so we know what you are feeling. Pet Calvin for us. Best wishes, Ed & Stevi

My condolences. I had to put 14 year-old Maggie down last week, but got Nelson, a 10 week old puppy soon after.

Bill and Susan. We are sorry to hear about Hobbs and send our most sincere condolences. We remember him well from Quartzsite 2 years ago as a quiet guy with a sage expression.

So sorry for your loss.

We had Sasha, our previous Border Collie, cremated and put in a small container with her picture on it. We now take her with us on any major trips and she looks over us from above.

It's hard to explain how much a pet can be part of your family.

Sorry about your Hobbes.
We lost one of our Border Collies, Sadie, not long ago. She's in our back yard now, keeping an eye on those pesky squirrels! We have another red Border Collie,Missy, and a new Border Collie, Martha, for Missy to tutor. She has down a great job and saves us a lot of hassle.
Our Dogs are so much apart of our lives so we truly empathize with your loss of Hobbes.
