Am I the only one having trouble reading blue type on a dark red background?

I had to be certified yearly as having good color vision, so I am not color blind or even close to it.

Of course, I am also suffering from terminal presbyopia, so that might have something to do with it. But, I don't that is color-related.

I have excellent vision and I too find it hard to read. There is too little contrast.

Perhaps Bill would consider some other patriotic combination?

Because color is so subjective, one of the harder things to do is find a right balance in colors. Sometimes I do well, other times, not so much so.

How does this seem now? Suggestions?

Here is where I usually get my inspiration for colors.

In this case, I used the top one as it seemed to be most associated with a WWII - patriot color theme.

Better, but I think there needs to be a lot of contrast between the print and the background. On the search results page, the black print on dark blue background is still marginal, a light blue background would work better.

I prefer a light colored text on a dark background, but I know many prefer the more standard dark print on a light background. Either way, it's all about contrast.

All along I thought that my computer was playing games with me like sometimes it is prone to do.
Personally I like blue shades and dark print on lighter background does seem to be more tolerable.

Actually, I was referring to the blue color shift that is a side effect of Viagra usage.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/new...man-seeing-blue.html

When airliners went from round analog gauges and instruments with needles to CRT displays, like a computer monitor, there were suddenly colors. As an avionics tech, I had to deal with the fine points of color adjustments and complaints. By far, we had the most trouble with blues. The new instrumentation showed up in the largest airliners first, 767, MD11, etc. By virtue of seniority, the older pilots ended up flying these planes first, and complaints grew and grew. Slowly, the engineers came to realize that older men had more trouble with blues than any other color, hence, the Viagra connection.

Some of our classroom training was using a super big screen monitor, and all of us old guys had trouble with blues, as well. Good eyes, bad eyes, glasses, RK, no difference. Just age.

And, I doubt any took Viagra before a class.

Both of these occurrences were before Viagra came on the scene, I think, but as soon as the information became known, the Viagra jokes started.
