Here is an interesting link:

If only we had oil in our own country that we could use for ourselves.
quote:
A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country. Well, there's a very simple answer. Nobody bothered to check the oil. We just didn't know we were getting low. The reason for that is purely geographical. Our OIL is located in Alaska, California, Coastal Florida, Coastal Louisiana, Kansas, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania and Texas but our dipsticks are located in Washington, D.C.

RustyOn my way back home from Dade City today, Pilot off I-75 had price of $4.08 near Lake Panasofkee. Going further north, the price decreased at various places (lowest was $3.89), but it's $3.92 in the Gainesville area.

Bruce & KathleenDon't care what lame excuse they give, and they will between the oil companies and politicians, THE PRICE SHOULDN'T BE NO WHERE NEAR HERE! Not for gas, oil, diesel, nautral gas ,home heating oil, etc... It is just legalized robbery and they know it. The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Just the way this country wants it to be. Always was, always will be. Anybody that doesn't think this country is run by money, just look around and see who has been fat and happy over the last few years while most of us continue to struggle. Did the rich care if you were surviving as long as they were able to make more money, mostly while taking it out of your pocket?
Okay, off my soap box before my blood pressure rises any more and then I have to deal with the INSURANCE COMPANIES....

DougZIf you don't want to be hurt by the increase in gas prices, just invest in oil futures. If the price of crude goes up it will offset your increase in gas prices. If crude doesn't go up your gas prices will stay the same. Either way you break even.

That's how the smart airlines keep the risk lower in fuel.
