Jim and Tere, Thanks for posting your tag number. Hope you don't mind getting an extra foot of coach. The data tag translates as: 8411 Built November, 1984 3172 sequential build number of units by Barth 29FP 29 foot Regal Coach 3B We think this is floor plan And you thought your coach was only 28'. A salute! I think the Barthmobile forum has been significantly enriched by the efforts Nick Cagle has expended in accumulating data on the data tags and consequently the history of Barth. Hear, Hear! I'll drink to that! Nick's efforts have also made it a little easier to determine what is what. Does anyone think we need to pressure advertisers to disclose tag information? No Tickee, No Washee? . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

To Rusty and Bill H, Thanks for the kind words. The project has been fun and educational. The numbers definitely remove a lot of the questions we have when a coach is offered for sale. I just wish I could come up with the coding at the end of the Data Number, but we will keep trying. Again Thanks P.S. Bill N.Y. has also been very complimentary in P.M. on the subject.

NOTE TO NEW MEMBERS One or two of the new members have posted their data tags when filling in the personal profile. Other have listed their coach model and year info but not the tag. If you can please furnish the number and help us gather as many as possible. So far we have collected 70 tags. Thanks, Nick

Maybe we can get them to post the number on this web site when listing a coach for sale, but it would sure be nice if Ebay, RVtraderonline, Craigs list, and all the others had to disclose this info. It would eliminate hundreds of questions. Of course on the other hand, we wouldn't have anything to talk about when they list the wrong length, or wrong model, etc. Nick

Ok...my unit has a unit # of 9610-s0047-23r-01. I agree on first 4 numbers..(first 2 means it is built in 1996,second 2 i think is the projected completion date for delivery. The next series is (S 0047)...I am almost certain the "S" stands for "Specialized". On my origonal blueprints,it says specialized under division name. the 0047 could mean it was the 47th unit built that year but based on the fall date, I would imagine this is the 47th specialised unit built in 96'. The next series is (23R01) she is 23 foot long..regal is my best guess for the R and 01 is probably the indicator that this is the first unit of its kind. I know for sure that there is a reasonably similar sister ship to this unit and I believe it took delivery before mine did(I say this because it had the vintage dash style where mine is pretty "new industrial". Hope this helps

To Kris & Tina Jones, I have four other tags that will help with yours I think? When Barth was sold in 1996 to the new owners the Company name was changed to Barth RSV. The new company started the number sequence over at 0001 for all of the units they produced for the short time they were in business. The first four digits are in fact the year and month of production. We have never been able to be absolutely sure whether it is the month entered into production or the scheduled month of completion. In either case it would only be one or two months difference. The other tags manufactured by RSV are:
I had originally thought that RSV numbers ran in one consecutive series but your coach makes me think they used two series of numbers. One for the Specialized Division and another for the Motor Coach division Your unit 9610-S0047-23R-01, produced in October, 96 seems to mess up the original thinking so far because 0047 doesn't fit between 0022 produced in August, 96 and 0043 produced in November, 97. But if we use the first digit of "S" since we do have one other specialty unit and the "M" for the coach division then everything still fits. We need a few more of the RSV units to know for sure. And I Thought I had it figured out???? Nick

"9601-M0012-38RL-1C 38 foot Regency on Spartan chassis 9608-M0022-38MI-4C 38 foot Monarch on Mountain Master Chassis" Esoterica: Mountain Master is a Spartan Chassis, and the 0012 probably is on the Mountain Master chassis. #0022 was ordered in the Spring, and earnest money deposited before June; it was completed in late October. The 0012 perhaps was ordered and assembly begun in '95; my understanding is the Regency name was no longer available after Dec 95, having been supplanted by "Monarch". My NADA book shows both Monarch and Regency for 95, with Regencies being higher priced for the same length and engine power. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

I am using this opportunity to bump this up to the top of our discussion board and to request anyone who has not posted or PM us your "Data Tag Numbers" to do so. While there are no requirements to do this, it sure would be nice of you to help out in this worthwhile project.

Just to add to Bill's request please post the data tag info at this thread. If you list it when signing up at your personal profile, I might miss it but if it is listed here you can be sure it will be received. For those of you not familiar with the tag it is the tag that is required on all vehicles and includes tire and wheel information. It will show tire sizes and inflation pressures. Thanks, Nick

OK, here's another try to see if you can read them Interesting note, The first Breakaway tag is dated November, 1990. After that date all production was Breakaways, Regencies, and Monarchs with the exception of a few specialty units such as mobile offices, and command units and TWO Regals. One, number 3709, in February, 1991 and one, number M0043, in November, 1997. If you find any errors in this list please let me know. Thanks, Nick
