I was just thinking since my speedometer was not working when we bought the coach I would like to check anybody's hours matched with mileage to see if it was what they thought it was.they said it had around 94.000 miles and the hour meter is on 2,145 would this be about right?

I would like an answer on this one, That WAY I CAN AT LEAST FIGURE IF THE MILEAGE IS CLOSE.We usually only run the motor when driving if you have 180,000 and around 4000 + hours I will be at least close the motor was rebuilt at 50,000 miles at cummins motors

That would work out to an average speed of 44 mph. Counting warm up, local traffic, in and out of camp sites and sight-seeing, that sounds close.

Hour Equations are really only good for stationary equipment. That being said, Bill H's assessment on hr vs mileage sounds close enough.

All of our service trucks idle when on job sites to provide air psi for our tools. In my case, like a cement mixer, I have a dual usage issue that might cause me to rely on an hour meter instead.

For our Rvs, the use of an hour meter would be better served attached to a generator. mechanic But, some of us like extra gauges on our dash. Wink Fix the speedometer/odometer and you'll be better off in the long run.
