Does anyone know if Motor Coach Restoration is still in business? I have an 87 Regency and have tried several days to contact them about brake maintainence and not be able to get anyone. If not, does anyone know who else can service the brakes?

Any good heavy duty truck shop should be able to work on your brakes, you don't need a motor home specialist.

What about new rotors? is there any that fit the Regency MCC chassis? I went to KC Freightliner and they couldn't / wouldn't work on them.

Sounds about normal for that company... sad really as they used to be very responsive. Here is who we're recommending for the MCC now. http://www.rvsrepair.com/

Duane, I had my brake pads replaced by a local RV/Truck repair shop. I'll have to look thru my paperwork. The shop called them severe duty brake pads. I'll try to find out more info for you. I think they are used on several other heavy vehicles. May take me a day to find the right paperwork, so I hope your not in a rush for it. Jim

The best time to reach MCC is after 4:00 Central ?? time... usually you will get to leave a message and he says he will get back to you~~~~ BUT I have never spoken to him and my MCC has been there for over two years (long story). When you do get a answer it is his mother who is his go-between/girl Friday _________________________ The 82 MCC {by Barth} is not an rv-- it is a Motor Coach!!

I replaced the rear pads on my 82 35' Regency. When they cross checked the pads it turned out to be Ford F350 pads. They were still working great after four years when I sold the coach. I still have an Alcoa rim for that coach if anyone is interested

I tried calling, leaving messages, and emailing MCR for over a week. I was told that the calipers are Bendix and the calipers and pads are pretty standard for most well equipped auto parts store. My concern is replacing the rotors. They are not really too bad, but are worn to the point they could probably not be turned, within specs. I just couldn't imagine that MCC had proprietary rotors, and that there isn't some available. I appreciate all the info and help people are passing on to me, great forum.

Duane, I checked my paperwork and the pads are called 149 severe duty brake pads. They have worked very well for my Barth MCC. I would suggest you contact Jim Black at WWW.RVSREPAIR.COM about the rotors. Jim Black used to work with Barth building these coaches. He has designed and improved many things while working with Barth. The FMC and the MCC basically use many of the same parts. I sure he will be able to help you. He sure has helped me with several problems and was able to furnish me many parts for my MCC. Jim

On some MCCs they used a upgrade of Mueller rotors etc... _________________________ The 82 MCC {by Barth} is not an rv-- it is a Motor Coach!!

...and their email doesn't work because their computer had a virus/malware which destroyed most of their online records. So they do not use the computer any more for work ....it is just a small operation now... being a side line for him {which he does after his full time work} and his mother who looks after it, is there only part time in late afternoon (so I am led to believe) _________________________ The 82 MCC {by Barth} is not an rv-- it is a Motor Coach!!

I realize this is an older post, but I haven't been on the site in quite a while. Calipers and pads are easy, NAPA got them for me. In fact they were on the shelf, Bendix. Rotors are another story, they were probably an FMC industrial or military application. One older mechanic I showed mine to said they looked like rotors used on FMC street sweepers years ago. I was able to have mine turned and be w/in legal thickness. That is my experience on my coach anyway. If things changed on later models then there may be differences. I was able to source all of my steering and suspension parts through my local NAPA... ball joints, tie rod ends, etc.
