Excellent Bill. And you remembered our great friends to the Nord. As much as we should honor our own forces, we should not take for granted how lucky we are to have such excellent partners in world freedom. This is especially true when we look at what is occurring on our southern borders. We are so lucky to be free!!! A personal thank you to our friends across the pond too (after all, there are a few Barths that have migrated there). Bill, Thanks once again for remembering. Today I attended a program at my grandchildren's grammer school. I know that the children do not understand the significance of the day but it is nice to know the officials and teachers are trying to teach them the importance. The kids had a wall of fame with pictures of all us old codgers taken many years ago and in uniform. Each picture was identified by name and relationship to the child. At least this is a lot different than the reception I and many others were welcomed to upon my return from Vietnam in 1968. Nick Cagle U S Navy 1962-1969

Applebees offered free food to veterans today, at least here in Florida. My Dad (Korea) and son (Iraq) both took advantage. They said the place was busier than they had ever seen it. Applebees just went up a notch in my restaurant opinion. Up a notch in my book too. .had 7 ounce sirloin, smashed potatoes and cole slaw on the house, things were so busy as a single I had to sit at the bar to avoid a half hour wait. Not so bad though, good company many vets from many wars and the two dry, burbon manhattans (not on the house)weren't bad either.

I would have gone there, but they didn't have ham and lima beans. To me, that is the quintessential Army meal. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered
