Hi folks, I just picked up a 1985 35' Regency last night. 41k miles, 8.2 turbo with a bunch of bells and whistles (so to speak). Nicely kept and in good shape execpt for a lack of electrical skills! Its needs a little polishing up but it in pretty nice shape. All part of hte mastr plan - I just finished up the 40x60 storage building attached to my workshop - so the Barth has a nice home now. It s main use will be to get me and teh family out to track event - I instruct road course racing with the Porsche and BMW clubs. The '85 Barth will bw doing a lot of towing of the '86 Porsche. Nice match! 1985 Regency 35' 8.2T Detriot Diesel / Allison other toys - a bunch of old Porsches, a GT350 and a '65 mustang convertible.

Actually, The Rule is: You have 20 minutes to clean the windshield and headlights, then you MUST start the photo session. Demerits can ensue otherwise! The Barth has only moved 200 miles in the last 8 years....lots of dust and oxidation! Can I apply for a special dispensation on the 20 minute rule? Heres some more data - Coach number - 8501/0055/35RBD Chassis - 1RP1A586XF1US1058 Does that mean anything to you folks?! I have a real mixed bag of documentation - lots of info/manuals on the appliances and other add ons but no wiring / electracal info. In fact I don't know what half the switches do (not the dash but the ones around the coach)!! 1985 Regency 35' 8.2T Detriot Diesel / Allison other toys - a bunch of old Porsches, a GT350 and a '65 mustang convertible.

Chris, Any connections to Crucible Steel?

Damn...and I am wasting my time changing the oil(s) and fixing wiring.... As far as Crucible - the only connection is that I drive by it every day! I hate it when they are running the big steel furnace - it smells just like really hot brakes as you drive by on the Interstate!! 1985 Regency 35' 8.2T Detriot Diesel / Allison other toys - a bunch of old Porsches, a GT350 and a '65 mustang convertible.

Hi, Chris! Another MCC chassis owner! Careful, that smell you speak of just may be the brakes. I have an 84 MCC Regency and while I think the chassis design is second to none for ride and handling, the brakes need regular maintenance to operate at their fullest capacity. Do you know how to service calipers so they "float" well? Critical that you do so, because if you don't they are only "grabbing half way", so to speak. With this unit you need to take care of them, too, as the rotors/disk units are EXPENSIVE. And gear that puppy down like it's a semi with a load going down long hills. You will smoke these brakes if you are not careful, with potentially tragic consequences. But, don't let me scare you, these are great coaches. Unfortunately, any 25 year old motor vehicle is going to need maintenance, but, the ride is worth it! Cheers, Duteman
