Is it the windshield or side window? if it is the side use 1/2 Plexiglas You can cut it and it will fit rite in .You can get it tinted already looks the same and it won't fog up.

Also, about the windshield, here in Florida, iif you have a crack in the windshield, and if that crack is in your line of vision, your insurance company will pay for a replacement (which can usually occur right in your driveway). Our experience has been that there is NO deductable to be met, and it does not count as a claim.....

Don't know if they do that anywhere else. Thankfully, we never had to do this to the Barth, but did have to do it on a truck, and a car, all in a five year period, due to road construction. It's worth investigating.
