I'm going to start a new thread when I see images that aren't linked to a post - hopefully this will help whoever is trying to post something that may be running into problems. Here is our first entry.

Based on the numbering sequence it appears that it could be from barthbluesmobile.

I have no recollection of those pictures!

The components there do not show the patina of having been sitting idle for many years, as is evident on my Barth. Also, the 454 does not have a plug half way up the side of the oil pan. And that is definitely not a Turbo Hydramatic transmission!

I'm guessing that is a diesel rig?

happy motoring!
Matt

Look at the right side of the pictures. I think this is a rear engine pusher. Look at the coach body, the access door and I think you are looking at the back of a coach. I think I can make out part of a hitch

And you told him NOT to put a plug back in there right? Sorry, but your image links are broken in your PM now. I moved them into the tech file on PhotoBucket.

I PM'd your recommendations; mine were that plug is optional, but if installed should be pulled periodically to check for oil accumulation.

Thanks, guys for your comments on this. These are my pix of our 5.9L Cummins diesel pusher. I was in a PM conversation with Rusty to try to determine what was missing on the underside of my engine compartment.

It's at the bottom of the flywheel housing and what threw me was the fact that the hole is threaded. I therefore thought something backed out and should be replaced. What really threw me was the fact that there is no reference in the Cummins Operation/Maintenance Manual to this ⅞" orifice and its purpose.

As you can see I'm in a major learning curve here having just acquired our Barth in late July (see my prior posts re: the heater core drain up in the Genset compartment) and so I didn't want to be sounding like a greenhorn again in the regular forums. Next time, however, I'll just "let 'er rip!"

Lou
