Golly I can think of a few artistic masterpieces that were not technical masterpieces.

Certainly the 1953 Studebaker Starlight Coupe was an artistic masterpiece, but it came nowhere near being a technical masterpiece. In fact, it was well behind the leading edge of automotive technology.

The Cord 810/812 is another. A body that was a work of art on a chassis cobbled together of outsourced components.

Same for the Russian streamlined steam locomotive designated the original "Polar Arrow".



A beautiful machine with a basket of mechanical and performance shortcomings. One of the few beautiful examples of Socialist Art.
