Take cover, take aim, and tell Ma to fire up the smoker.

That's half a year of jerky, plus gifts. My biggest regret is that I was never able to make my own moose jerky. It had to be made locally to be shipped home. My Susan makes the best jerky in the world, but I have never been able to bring back moose meat in large quantities.

I see more and more of that lately. Traditionally, "apostrophe ess" is used to denote possession or as a contraction in place of "is".
Vin's (possesive) Number has expired is not the same as Vin#s (noun) has expired? Big Grin

What about the contraction "That'll"?... As in "That'll do it!" Are you going to tell me that ain't a word. Roll Eyes

Factoid here: Did you know that Gunner is a Grammarian?

Oh, no. It is a legitimate contraction.

But aint aint a word and you aint spose ta say it.

However, my Firefox spellcheck says ain't is a word. That is, with the apostrophe.

News to me. MS Office does not approve of either one. I don't have to check to know what Harbrace thinks.

I find it passing strange that Firefox allows ain't but does not allow "doesn't".

Don't you mean "Ain't aint a word but aint is"... Or is it "Aint ain't a word but ain't is"? Computer Me thinks the latter, not the former.

We all know that careful speakers do not use the word ain't or aint.

Well, at any rate, don't tell "Al Green". Otherwise, we wouldn't have – "Ain't No Sunshine When She's Gone"

And my all time favorite word, that really is a word, but shouldn't be a word, that sounds ridiculous even if it is a word.............Disorientate! What does it mean....disorient. Why not just say "I'm disoriented." rather than add suffixes to say "I'm disorientated." Errrr!

But, as some wise man said "all words got made up at some time."

Don't you just hate wise men.

That would depend on whether one is a Creationist or an Evolutionist. Smiler

I, personally, am a modified Creationist, or a Topsyist, as in "I just growed."

I see why all these guys are engineers & the like. They all flunked English 101. Or is it that they've all been dipping into the sauce a little to deeply?

My engineering classes at a pretty good school did not include any English classes, now were any offered. Just tech writing.
