I'm here for my public flogging... Big Grin

In an effort to improve our site, I keep making changes and adding in additional "things" on different pages. One of the "things" that I added wound up deleting something else I wanted to keep.

On the "Main Forums Page" I have had a statement that reflected our roots. It says... This site was founded in January 2001 by Dave Bowers. As of August 1, 2007 the "new host" is Bill N.Y. although it wasn't a very elaborate statement, it was meant as an homage to Dave for his hard work in raising this site from infancy.

Without Dave Bowers, we wouldn't have this site today. Dave's efforts haven't been forgotten by me, and I hope no one thought that I had forsaken where we came from. It was an honest mistake and if anyone was offended (I know I was, when it was brought to my attention) I am truly sorry.

I know Dave isn't the type of person who would have thought I was being petty. I respect the history and the fact remains that Dave has done more for the Barth Custom Coach, since the factory closed, than anyone else. If you ever make it to the RV Museum, Dave has donated a fountain of literature about our beloved Barths.

The truth is, I just pay the bills and play with some setting. I add in some additional scripts and I try to foster GTG's between our members. The fellowship and roots go back to Dave, the flash and "bells & whistles" were added by me to give the site a boost. Heck, I would have done this if Dave was still running things and he asked.

The reason I didn't notice it right away is because I come in through the N.S.L.V. link and I never saw that it was gone. Yes, even I make mistakes... Computer

Ditto Carl's sentiment, though I am now Barthless due to age & infirmity.

What gets me, "I don't even know when it happened"... I think it was when I tweaked the page for the "Map The Barths/Data Tag Project" Forum announcement on 10/2.

It might even have been earlier... I just wanted you to know that I did not consciously deleted it, and be assured that I have not gone over to "The Dark Side" Shields Up

You may now return to your regularly scheduled program... Unless, of course, I forgot something else that may need airing out. Big Grin

If I have, then by all means, let me have it. Violence

I have learned a lot about the Barth thru Dave's and your efforts, Bill. I can tell from the postings of others that they surely agree. only thing......with all that crow you're eating will you still have Thanksgiving turkey?

ROTFLMAO that's funny...

... and thanks for being my mental nutritionist. Big Grin

Nope, I don't feel like that at all. I'm just stating facts and informing the members. Even, if only one person saw it, that was someone who deserved an explanation.

I, like my predecessor, will make some mistakes. It's inevitable... you can't be perfect. But, if you're made aware of an issue, and you don't address it, it could be construed in a fashion that has no basis in reality.

It just seemed like "The Perfect Day" for that kind of humor.

I have to agree that this is the "perfect day", because it's 4:10 and I'm sitting here at home instead of at the watering hole because I could not stand another minute of the blathering idiots that are allowed to vote for the people that will lead this country. My only condolence is the huge turnout for this election. Whoever wins will truly have been elected by a majority of the people instead of a little over half of a little over a quarter of some of the people who could have voted. GO VOTE!!!

Sadly, it is still possible for a candidate to lose the popular vote but win the electoral college and thus the presidency.

The basic core values that made this country great are------

of the people, by the people, for the people

Hmmmm, I don't think so!

of the special interest groups, by the special interest groups, for the special interest groups,

is more like it!
