After reading about the Rangers rally in Seffner at the end of Feb., we're kinda thinking about it, mostly because it's close to home and not too expensive. Before I contact their people, I'm hoping to get an answer or two from the folks here. I'd assume we'd have to be members to attend. How much would that cost? And what does it entail? I'm not really into joining a "club" that will expect something from me as a member. Will any of you Barthmobilers be going? Here"sthe info that Nick posted in another topic.

Barth Rangers.
$40.00 for the first year.
$25.00 thereafter.

I think that you also have to be an FMCA member.
$45.00 for the first year.
$35.00 thereafter.

If you do sign-up to become an FMCA member, please tell them I sent you. Member #F404550 as they send you a Road Atlas for the first referral and then a gift card for each additional member who signs up. Smiler

Based on this page, I would think that you do not have to be a member of the Rangers to attend their February GTG in Brooksville, Florida. There is an email link, on that page, for you to contact them for additional info.

Anyone interested in getting together with us can do so at the Brooksville, Florida FMCA Rally in February. Ken Yurga will post the meeting place (his coach location) and time on the Message Board located in the Registration tent. We may go to lunch or just sit around and talk. All Barth members attending the Brooksville Rally are welcome to attend. Hope to see some Barth members in February.
Although I am not a member, I received a solicitation from them. In it was a few fliers and it was addressed to me and the wife.

~They had one new member join up for 2008.

~There was talk of shutting down their website because of cost versus use. That was shelved for another day.

~There was an open slot within their ranks that needed to be filled.

~There was talk about a Chapter that was inactive.

~They gave you the figures of what was spent versus what the membership fees were. They were in the black.

~There was a rundown of how many members they had retained within the last year versus the one new member. They referred to this as a "Net loss of ___ members"

~They talked about an upcoming meeting to discuss club business.

We have several active members on our site that are Rangers too. Bill H, Nick Cagle, Tom Johns and a couple of others who keep renewing. Smiler

The last GTG was at a Casino and they had somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 confirmed Barth Coaches that were scheduled to go, I believe only a couple (1-3) made it. This, I think, was attributed to the run-up of fuel cost.

Here is another open invitation to anyone who owns a Barth or is a member of any Barth Custom Coach Club. If you want to list your Barth Coach Rally or GTG then send me the info or post it here. If it's Barth related, you have an open mic here. Computer

Just talked to Kitty from Barth Rangers, [see Nick's post in Rallys] about the Lazy-Days Rally.
She didn't seem to care about membership, and the event money is sent to Lazy-Days upon making reservations with them, so I don't see a problem. [No money goes to Barth Rangers for this event] First night there is potluck night and she gave us a choice of cssserole or desert, sounds like a good planner. We'll probably do the Strawberry festival if we can catch a ride, and otherwise just hang out. So barring unforseen circumstances, Suzy and I will be there, showing off the Euro and getting tag numbers for Nick whenever possible.

One correction is that Seffner is on the eastern outskirts of Tampa.

Bill NY, this isn't a Barthmobile GTG but how about listing it on our Members Map. Maybe other members will have an interest if they know about it.

Thanks for the address, that'll make it easier to list.

You have it listed in this thread so I'll put it on the map for you and reference it here. Let's use this thread so we don't step all over the Quartzite Rally Thread.

Nick, consider adding the info from the other thread to this one.

Have fun, get lots of pictures Smiler

Barth Rangers have a rally scheduled for Feb 28 in Seffner, Fla. Don't think its on their web site. Must have just emailed members. That's how I know about it. If you are interested in a Barth GTG a copy of an email I received is attached. You do not have to be a member of Barth Rangers to attend.

Copy of email:

Sent: 10/15/2008 7:38:07 P.M. Central Daylight Time
Subj: Rally in Florida February 28 - March 4, 2009

BARTH RANGERS SNOWBIRD RALLY
Hosts: Kitty and Turville Inman
February 28 - March 4, 2009
The RallyPark at Lazydays,
6210 County Road 579,
Seffner, FL 33584

The cost is $140 plus tax for 4 nights. We have reserved 15 sites for this rally and if we use all 15 sites there will be a 10% discount. We suggest you make your reservations as soon as possible to hold one of these sites. There is no penalty if you decide to cancel prior to our January 28th cut-off date. To make your reservation call (1-800-905-6627) and be sure to let them know you are with the Barth Rangers.

Your site cost includes:
- Complimentary Breakfast (except Sunday) from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
- Complimentary Lunch (except Sunday) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- A morning newspaper delivered to your site
- Full 50-amp hook up and cable TV
- Driver Confidence courses and Seminars (registration is required).

There is also an on-site Flying J, Cracker Barrel and Camping World.

On arrival night, the 28th, we will have Happy Hour and a Pot Luck (ladies, break out your favorite recipes), along with an area orientation and brief Business Meeting. We will have a Happy Hour every night so bring your appetizers and drinks of choice.

This is not be a pre-planned rally, it is a do what you want rally. Plant City's Strawberry Festival will be going on so those who are interested can caravan to Parkesdale Farm Market for the best strawberries and strawberry shortcake in Florida. The Festival admission fee is $10 and you can enjoy two big name music shows during the day. I have brochures that tell who will be appearing each day. On another day we will caravan to Florida's oldest and most honored Spanish restaurant, Columbia, for lunch or dinner. This will be "individual checks" so you can choose exactly what you want to eat. Reservations are usually required at this restaurant so I'll have a signup sheet at the Pot Luck.

RallyPark is central to interesting activities and you will have lots of free time to explore places like:

Fantasy of Flight - Gulf Beaches - Casinos - Malls - Florida Marine Aquarium - Ybor City - Disney World - Universal Studios and Sea World to name just a few.

Please let us know after you have made your reservation so we can keep track of how many will be attending. If I know in ample time I may be able to get more sites if they are needed. If you have any questions about this rally please feel free to call.

Just talked to the rally park and she told me we can stay 2 nights and not have to pay the 140, just 2 nights at rally rate [35 per, if I understand her right]. We'll probably just stay Saturday and Sunday nights. This may make a difference to those who can't do the entire 4 nights.
