We won't be making it this year. But I would like to bring up the question of next years spring GTG lead by our fearless wagon master Nick Tooling Along. We talked about lots of places for 2012 and the places mentioned were great. I would like to serve up for your driving pleasure 1. in the great plains Blackhills area , Rushmore, Custer State Park or pan for gold. 2. back east close to Lee's sunglass special, Gettysburg, what a chance to have a picture of your Barth next to Robert E Lee in bronze, or the Georgia state Monument, or the Michigan, or Illinois or New York , or Pennslvania, New Jersey, or maybe Your state. Ok thats my votes whats in your wallet? Smiler All who wander are not lost. Both locations would make a nice triangle on the GTG map. cheers

I think New York sounds good! This year may be our last year with the Barth before we sell. Although we have talked about just buying a bigger one but this one is getting too small for us. I think we just won't have time this year with the new house to go far but would like to gtg. There are a lot of big beautiful parks up here by us near Rochester NY or I'm sure Bill knows of some nice parks by him.

The Land of 10,000 Lakes! Minnesota is blessed with Beautiful National and State parks in abundance. I am positive there are many RV parks also and can research it.

I, also, cannot make this years GTG because of work and prior commitments Frowner. And for most of us still in the workforce (and some of us trying desperately to keep our jobs in this economy), going away for a week or better is not an option. Add to that, we have no idea what fuel is going to cost. But if this year is any indication, it ain't gonna be cheap!
Therefore my suggestion for next year is MULTIPLE GTG's that are regional. Then one can make whatever ones they are capable of making. I think a lot of folks here would LOVE to attend a GTG. And probably most cannot travel long distances to get to one. So why not try to do a few in different regions so that the multitude of owners can make one or another?

Bill,
I'd try to make NY just to meet you cheers Bruce brings up a good point. Hard to make a big trip. Getting the coach from Yuma to Home cost me just fuel $1145. Time is the biggest factor!

Make sure you fill up before entering NY and have enough fuel to get you OUT of NY! For Rusty's sake, make it close to a border. Tooling Along

If there's any interest in having a DC-GTG-II in 2012, I'd be glad to help make it happen. With enough interest, maybe some 1/2 day side-trips to Gettysburg/Annapolis/Harpers Ferry/Mt. Vernon, etc. ?

'Course, this assumes Washington will still be around by then..... hmm

We wanted to suggest a TN GTG, kind of in the middle of the country and within a days drive for a lot of folks, maybe for the fall of 2011. But to be honest there are sooo many good places.

I would do my best to be at a Tenn GTG. I really think Tenn is a state that emulates the RV lifestyle and it is located very nicely for a GTG too. I would think late fall when snowbirds are heading south.

Tenn sounds good, as does going back to Milford. If we did Tenn would people prefer someplace with a lot of activities like Dollywood in the eastern part of the state.

Another nearby site might be Asheville, NC. Biltmore, the winery, etc.
