DRATS! Frowner Mad..........

Just got my 2nd Qtr travel assignments.....I'll need to be on-the-road/in-the-air during the Milford GTG.
Looks like I gotta take a pass this time around.......I'll notify the campground. Meanwhile, site #473 is now available, even for Barths w/ paint.......Hoist one for me, and make sure Nick keeps the fire stoked!

Dear Lee,
After careful consideration and consulting with several local attorneys it has been decided that NO cancellations will be allowed. This is especially true in that the attendance of at least one SHINY Barth is required. Additionally each and every GTG is required to have in attendance a QUALIFIED Firemaster. Unqualified substitutes are NOT permitted.

Due to these requirements, please inform your employer to modify your work schedule accordingly.

Sincerely,
Nick Cagle

....If Stinky Daddy devotes 24/7 to polishing between now and the GTG, you'll have your shiny Barth...... (It's all on you now William!) Eeker

You'll do fine as FireMaster Nick....just remember: scotch is flammable! cheers

Lee, what a bummer, we were really looking forward to seeing you guys again. I guess I should break out my flashlight and get started polishing.

I like that idea. If I'm going to do all that polishing though while William photographs me polishing, I'm going to need a decent trip to the ABC store.

Things are happening. I just got off the phone with Al Hesselbart who is the resident historian at the RV Museum and Hall of Fame in Elkhart, Indiana. Al and his associate, Becky Spence, are of course very familiar with the Barth line of RVs and both say they have a very special place in their heart for Barths in general.

Al is very interested in the GTG and is willing to put together a custom package that can either involve a visit by Barth members and guests to the Hall of Fame (it's 10 miles away) or he can do a presentation at the Fairgrounds. Visits involving a tour of the Museum are normally $8.00 per person but rally members such as we are given a discounted rate of $6.00 (25%). Visits could either be done individually (members would be given a badge to be sure to get the discount) or we could all arrive en masse at an appointed time for a group tour. (There may be an additional charge for a group tour.) They would also love to have at least one Barth come to the museum and mentioned that if anyone wants to donate their Barth that would be fine!!!

Al also has a website worth a visit. It's www.rvhistoryprograms.com. It not only gives info on the programs he offers but has a reference to the "Tin Can Tourists" group that meets in Milford, Michigan each year. That particular group was founded in 1919!

On another note, I spoke earlier today with Cathy (Barth) Vanlaningham who is the author of the note Nick Cagle posted earlier in this thread. She is willing to look over the list I received from Sue Lechlitner that contains 43 names of people who used to work at the Barth factory. She will look it over to see whether there are any adds or changes we should make before sending out the invitations for our Saturday noon luncheon.

I'll leave it to Nick, our Host, to make suggestions as to how and when to do visits to the Museum. In the meantime, please feel free to chime in with your thoughts and ideas. (A great way to do that would be through our Chat feature, either tomorrow night - St. Patty's Day Chat GTG at 9pm Eastern Time - or anytime in this thread.

McBarth suggested that we ask the former Barth people to bring any memorabilia that they would be willing to share with us. Photos, awards. news clippings etc. or any other thing to share with us would be most appreciated by our Barther's that are hungry for any info about anything pertaining to Barth.

Looks like I'm going to have to purchase a scanner & printer for my laptop. Does anyone know if this campground has wi-fi?

If anyone gets to talk with Sue would you please ask her to decipher the electrical notes in the Barth Book? They refer to TB, CB and others but do not tell anyone where they are located and how to match the numbers with terminals and such.
Thanks

I have two scanner/printers and both work off my USB port. They will be available at GTG.

Thinking I might be able to attend, is there still room for a 22 footer to meet it's bigger brothers?
