....About the same time that L.K. Newell started building his coaches in OK....Wonder if the brand name(s) caused any marketing problems

Bill N.Y.John, a former Barth employee who gave the guided tour of the plant, sent this to me. Good stuff... Hopefully more Barth info can see the light of day. Contacts like this you can not make by staying home. I'm really glad I went to Milford.
I know that the former employees were very grateful for the invite and all had a great time.

Marvin+DorisAnd the saga continues. We like dry camping at the tow yard so much we signed up for another night. All went smooth, we treated the Barth to a new alternator, 4 fresh belts, filter and u joints. That would have only taken $700 and 5 hrs, but now we got a vibration. The driveshaft is out of round (it spun when the mechanic first cranked it, someone goofed up). So the driveshaft is going to the machine shop tomorrow.
But we would do it again, to be at this GTG was priceless.

StinkyDaddyGreg,
Here's the floor plan
And here's a view from the back
Yea, we did have the oldest there. At the cookout I got to talk to Roy, who was there when our trailer was built.

Nick CagleJust got home about 9PM tonight. Will have a lot more to add but for now, If any one is considering hosting a GTG, it certainly has it's advantages.
Thanks, Kris and Tina Jones, Every drop will be thoroughly enjoyed.

RustyArrived home around 2 PM after an uneventful trip.
Last night was spent at Southern Gates RV Park near Arabi, GA, a rustic little park where I was the only overnighter. Renting a space gets free cookies:
Before leaving Indiana, StaRV II posed at the Bison Trailer plant, where Barths were built.

Jim and TereWilliam, I really like the layout for your trailer, especially the way you turned the 'john' so that it faces the tub. That's a nice touch. Can't wait to see it finished.

Jim and TereHey, I think we ought to start a contest on GTG's. Who is the youngest and who is the oldest? Benjamin won the youngest (3 months-right Tina?) and I think I (Jim) won the oldest-71 years and 11 months. Now if Carl Flack was there that would change

. Of course, there may be some ladies who don't want to talk about being married to the oldest dude there.

Marvin+DorisWe had such a great time and you all are great people (Barthers and former employees)

It was the opportunity of a lifetime to meet the folks that worked on our Barth and hear the stories behind it. To see the factory where our beautiful Barth was "born" and to tour the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart IN (well worth a visit). And to finally meet some of the Barthmobilers. What a wonderful group!
First we were sceptical, we attended some rallies before (I know I know, sorry Nick - it is NOT a rally) and never liked the military style operation (breakfast 0800 hrs sharp, 0900 hrs trip to XYX, 1630 hrs "attitude adjustment hour" (you needed it by then), 1800 hrs dinner. Ten minutes late and all was gone and over). And an exorbitant rally fee on top of camping/gas etc. We like the relaxed friendly athmosphere of the GTGs, that's how it is supposed to be. Plus the Barthers are just good people. Thank you all for putting up with us. We were like kids at Christmas, seeing all the different Barths and they sure are each and everyone unique, not one the same. You see one and you think "oh I like this feature", you see the next one "oh I like that too". I would not trade ours, but a little more basement storage and kitchen counter space would have been nice. Then who needs to cook with all that good food we had!!! Thank you all again!

PS the lemon poppy seed cookies recipe will be posted asap.
