4th Annual Florida GTG, Hillsborough River State Park 2010 Dec.3rd to the 5th.

OK, I waited a whole month before starting in on this years Florida GTG. The general concensus seemed to be that Hillsborough worked well for everyone. The weather couldn't possibly be that bad again so I think we'll be able to enjoy a lot more of what the park has to offer.
This year Friday falls on the 3rd of December, so we'll say the GTG is from Dec.3rd to the 5th. Of course you may come early and stay late if you're able.
For the Park site: http://www.floridastateparks.org/hillsboroughriver/
For reservations: http://www.reserveamerica.com/...ode=FL&parkId=281037
Remember, we use mostly area 1, sites 30 and up to 44, then in area 2 sites 51 a,b etc and around the corner. Perhaps Bill can put up the map from last year that shows all of our area on one map, including the dining hall.
Plan on getting your reservations in by mid summer, and please leave site 36 for Suzie and I.

We regretfully will not be able to attend this GTG. A cruise has in the works for a couple of months. Have a good time and I'll pray for warm, clear and sunny weather for Hillsbourgh, Florida...........

Site 34 was Carl Flacks last year and he and Betty are going on a cruise so that site is available and you are welcome to it. Everyone else needs to get their reserves in ASAP. Hope to see some of you at Nicks, and if things go really well, at the Indiana GTG, but that's a a long shot right now.

I made our reserves for site 36 today. Looks like Lenny and us are the only sites taken so far, but it's never too early if you want a specific site!

Great! Cap Bob and Connie will have to get another site but that shouldn't be a problem. They had 38 last year and had plenty of room so you will have no problems other than maybe 30a service, but last year AC was the least of our worries. Looking forward to seeing you, and if you happen to be by here before give us a holler.

Thanks Bill, I still wonder why the bottom of the page never shows a pic from the Fl.GTG. You took a bunch of good ones.

Shame on me... let me straighten out that oversight right now.

How's that for rectifying the situation? Smiler

With all the T-shirt interest, I thought I'd give our resident artist something to work with for the Fla. GTG. This was taken from the canoe at the first GTG so it's real.

It was pretty thoughtful of that alligator to hold down that Florida Swampmuckglademonster so you could canoe by!

OK, we have a good start. When you go to the reserve site they have an OIL SPILL update thing. Hillsborough State Park is WAY upstream and not in any danger. The rest of this coast is not out of danger at all, nor is the other coast, the Keys, and don't count out my old home Bermuda.
Remember, it only costs 7 bucks to cancel your reservation if you can't make it, but if you wait too long and can't get a site, no amount of money will help. So grab a site now and be ready in December.
