Thanks, guys.

Now that I know I have permission, here are excerpts from a couple of emails I recently received from Cathy Barth Vanlanginham:

Hello Lou, by all means you are welcome to post any and all excerpts you wish of my e-mails. I have contacted some of my family members already and told them of this upcoming celebration. I , personaly am so excited to know that this tradtion will be carried on. I will forward some names of those I know where not included previously. Thanks for the concern of health problems, unfortunatly they will not get any better, only worse. But we do not want to dwell on what we cannot change. Today as is everyday alive a gift from God, good or bad day , still a gift! I will keep in touch and more than anything I hope my Mother is not sick this year and can make it to the gathering! Have a great day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Cathy Barth Vanlaningham

One more to come,

Lou

More from Cathy Barth Vanlanginham:

…when I say factory you have to know all of our lives it has been called, THE FACTORY!
Cathy Barth Vanlaningham
---------------------------------------
I will always cherish the company that made my family proud to put our name upon it,Please give our best reguards to all and once again thank you to everyone for the wonderful gathering we were invited to last year. (email received in December: "Last Year" referred to the 2010 GTG.)
Cathy Barth Vanlaningham
---------------------------------------
These people (factory workers) were the backbone of the company that made the cherished coaches you continue to enjoy and it makes me feel so happy that the years so many spent hard at work doing such a good job,the product still remains to this day! I always wonder these days the way things are built, manufactured will the future have such things as antiques? Mass production isn't always such a good thing!
Thanks again,
Cathy Barth Vanlaningham

I'll be asking for more names, etc. in plenty of time to get the notices around. If SD can do the post cards, that's great. Sloop: I'll at least need some help dishing out the Hudsonville Ice Cream that Barb and I will be bringing.
Lou

Lou,
I didn't notice this back last month. I see you asking Sloop to scoop. If you need more help Lynn and I have been know to throw a mean scoop of ice cream. Being one of the new folks and new to the Barthians looking for direction of whats expected.

My plan is to bring one of my most valuable sharable items along to share with the group. My handmade/homemade Venison Cajun Summer Sausage. I have severely curtailed my own consumption to have some to share with the group. Harvest has been slim the last couple years. Only my closest friends and family have ever been offered a taste. The help from this group has been priceless and appreciated and hopefully this expresses that.

Great press release and I eagerly await more direction on what to expect so we can get everything possible out of this opportunity.
Lou!

You don't eat jalapeno Cheerios? Nick approves, although my last batch, delivered yesterday, wasn't up to my standards.

I have not seen that flavor Cheerios yet but sounds like a day brightener!

Maybe I can convince BillyT to bring me a care package from my relatives.

Sloop: You are hereby named Head Ice Cream Scooper. Barb will help. So will Dana and Lynn.

Dana and Lynn: Please report to Sloop.

All: Think about an auction and what to do with the “take.” Cathy Barth V/L will be bringing several Barth-brand items to auction off. And the rest of us could contribute some items. Also, if you play a musical instrument bring it along. We’ll have a jam session sometime during the week. (Who knows, we could make “American Idol.”) Can someone keep a “Who’s Doing What List?”

We could use the "take" from the auction to help defray the costs of running Barthmobile.com. That would be something that all can benefit from, I certainly have enjoyed and learned many things from Barthmobile.com, not to mention the friends that I have acquired over the years.

Not sure what food to bring.. maybe donate a bottle or two. How about camp fire wood?
