Jim, I live across the mountains from you. Hope things work out for you to come. Would love to meet you all. If not hope Miss Tere can come. Anne has been talking about this trip continiously. I took my muffler off last tues a week ago and ordered a new one, and it was sent to Va. for some reason. Might have to put the old one back on for the trip. lol. Anxiously waiting to meet everyone there. Ray and Anne

I'm looking forward to meeting you both. I think we need to talk both of them into coming.

Besides, I heard that, at one time, Mary was a professional masseuse.

That should straighten out your bad back.

We need to come up with something to fix Jim's back. When I was a kid, my mother always offered me cod liver oil for pain, and just the threat made it go away.

Nick CagleWell timing is everything. I will be driving the the Barth to Choo-Choo alone. Donna will be in New York City attending my son, Tim's graduation with a degree in physical training and massage therapy. Donna and Tim will be joining me at the GTG. If Jim can make it he can be Tim's first patient.

Nick CagleAny golfers in the crowd??
I located and talked to a golf course that is 10 miles from the campground.
Moccasin Bend Golf Club The rates are very reasonable. Eighteen holes with a cart $30.00 weekdays $32.00 weekends. My son and I would like to play one morning while we are there. Would any one like to join us. do you have a preference for date and time.

Mary RayThere are some reports on RV.NET that are describing gasoline shortages around Eastern Tennessee. Any Barthers in that area that can comment. Guess I better make sure tank is full before I get there.

Jim and TereYes, that is right Mary. Prices jumped $1.00 from last night to this morning. Many stations in Knoxville closed due to lack of fuel. There are reports on CNN of similar shortages in Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia. All due to Gustav. Factor in Ike and we are going to be in fix for a while. $4.50 is expected to last for at least three weeks, perhaps more if Ike does damage to the refineries. Many stations are limiting the amount of fuel you can purchase at one time. Some analysts are thinking $6.00 if a lot of damage is done to the refineries, and even at those prices, the amount you can get will be limited. Remember '72? Just in time for the GTG. We've got 70 gallons in the Barth and it may be foolish to use part of it to go to Chattanooga.

RustyI suspect the shortage is because the Colonial and other pipelines have been shut down at there origins. That's how the fuel gets to the local terminals.

BywatersMary and I are driving from Northern VA, my SOB was empty, so I filled up tonight. 80 gallons diesel, 3.80 a gallon (95 gal tank) This is the first time I could check mileage, 8.35 mpg.
I believe it will improve going down 81 since I will not have a toad. We will top off before entering TN.
I have to replace the command centers fuel fill hose since it leaks, I will take care of this tomorrow. I'm not sure how big a tank the center has, but it appears to be larger than my 85 Barth..
No sign of fuel price increases here...yet

RustyI'm going to fill my 5-gallon fuel can just in case. But I plan to refuel in GA south of Atlanta - the can will give me an extra 50+ miles if I need it.

Bywaters1300 huh.....that will fill mine a couple times too

I was checking fuel prices going down 81 and it is cheaper here than down south. Diesel prices don't seem to be as affected..
Marys going need a full tank cause I'm planning on drafting all the way down 81!

Nick CagleHere in Augusta, gas went from $3.59 to $4.59 in one day. My wife went to town to day and said gas prices were all over the place, varying as much as $1.00 a gallon at stations almost next to each other. Diesel has been unchanged at about $4.00 a gallon. For the first time in a long time diesel is cheaper than gas. Lucky that "Ugly Betty" holds 105 gallons. She is full and I can make it to Choo-Choo and back home without buying fuel. however, I think I will try to keep it full as long as I can get it around $4.00
