The real answer is I do not know. I have a MI title that says it had 86740 miles when the prior owner bought it. The prior owner then changed the speedometer at some point and the new one has 35025 miles. This adds up to 121,765 miles. The only unknown is how many miles the prior owner put on before changing the speedometer.

Gary you said:
"The Allison 542 transmission was replaced with an Allison 2000. This allows cursing 70mph at 1800rpm and getting 10mpg at the same time."

I was wondering does the 1800 RPM make the cursing more audible for the passengers? Is this a possible vehicle for the Tourette's Society? Certainly it permits more curses per gallon and less per mile. I have heard of cursing a blue streak but it has never been quantified for me so eloquently!

Seriously though...Was the Allison new when installed? On Transynd? Have you done any suspension, brake or chassis work?

Thanks!
Gary

I was told the Allison 2000 had about 85K on it. It was installed in a rollback behind a Navistar 466. The truck was in an accident and the automotive salvage yard bought it for the roll back. The sale of the engine and transmission was bonus money.

It was mostly oil free when I got it, but appeared to have transynd it. I most definitly did when installation finished.

With the engine in the back noise was never a problem. But then I am slightly hearing impaired.

As far as chassis all new brake pads and 3 calipers. Yea I know there are 4. Also rebuild power steering gear.

Hi.
Is your motorhome still for sale? We are brand new to this site, so please pardon my ignorance.

This Barth is no longer for sale. The Newell sold first. Not sure how to do this as it was not sold.

Good job marketing the Newell in this semi-desperate economy. Someone probably got a great deal, but I'm secretly glad you kept the Barth over the Newell as we can enjoy your company on Barthmobile.
