Mountain Park is up the Poudre river.

There is a cool little tunnel on the way up.

A single wide bridge and your entering the campground.

Here was our spot.

Some spots have 30 amp electric. There is a nice shower house. The campground borders the poudre river.

Kelly Flats jeep trail is very near the campground.

This is the bottom of heart attack hill.

Here is the top. The pic we didn't get was of my bad line coming up the hill and pulling both front wheels off the ground. Heart attack hill is named well.

On our way home.

DJ, always enjoy your travel reports and pix. The dogs seem to be a constant part of the travels, as it should be. Thanks and keep it up!

Wow! Great looking area. Trout fishing looks good, and the water looks cool.
It has been in the mid to high 90s and humid as heck around here for weeks. 97 yesterday with no rain for a month. ... we're not used to that kinda heat here in Canuckistan!
Wish I was up in the Rockies.

This is Daisy May and Gracie May. They are a lot of fun at the campgrounds. I take a lot more walks than I would if they didn't come along.

You guys are killing me... I'm in NY working and my dogs are in Myrtle Beach on vacation with the wife and kids.

Question: Is it normal to miss your dogs more than your kids and wife? Ooops Big Grin

Sure it's normal Bill, here's proof: Lock your wife, kids & dogs in a closet....go away for four hours....come back, unlock door and take note of which ones are happy to see you. hmm

I didn't really mean to start anything with my Schnauzers being perhaps the best RV dog comment.

I have had several, and they are a lot of dog in a small package, don't shed, and are non-allergenic.

I actually prefer Airedales, because we are always where coyotes abound, and cougars and wolves are around. They are very close to us before sundown, and I see coyote tracks every morning all around the place. Anything under 40 lbs is coyote chow. They even snatch them and run away while the poor little critter is being walked on a leash.

Two or three schnauzers might handle a coyote in a fair fight, but coyotes use the element of surprise.

My dad raised and trained Border Collies, and used to sympathize with my ex- and me about our dumb dogs

My mother had a Miniature Schnauzer, who was really a farm dog - hard as a rock, tough as nails, and fearless (she dispatched more than one coon). I like Schnauzers...if only they were smarter... ROTFLMAO

There is no wrong when choice of dog is involved. Smiler

Lots of Border Collies here in open range cattle country. Really smart dogs.

WOW! That is quite an accomplishment! Coons are tough. I had a larger than average Westie that required some doctoring after doing a coon. Our cat never liked him until he rescued her from a coon attack. After that, she LOVED him. Always rubbing up against him, etc.

I used to know a woman who trained Border collies for herding competition. She acquired a rescue min schnauzer. The schnauz watched the training, absorbed it from observation, and decided to herd sheep, too. What a kick! A totally different style, but equally effective, and much more interesting to watch.
