I've heard every one of these, and have done roadcalls to address these issues. Problems are abound, and fabrication is usually the remedy.

At the DC-RV show a couple years ago, I kicked tires on a $400+k DP that had opposing slideouts,
with a J-shaped sofa and an L-shaped galley island. In the stowed position, occupants were limited
to cockpit seats only....Wanna use the head?...Either crawl over the sofa or deploy the slides

I was surprised to see a new Airstream here in Venice with a slide out. Even the king of the hill has resorted to gimicks. How sad.
