This Monarch is an IPS Corp holding. IPS deals in specialized structural adhesives. It could be a coincidence, but the timing would be right for them to have been in cahoots with the new Barth owners to build a plastic Barth and got stuck with a large liability or just wanted to see it through.

This gets a little Area 51, I know, but there was not much to go with.
