"not getting fuel"
......I wonder if that means the accelerator pump does not squirt or the float bowl is dry or there is no fuel at the inlet or what.
quote:
"will run if you put gas in the carb"
......I wonder if he means down the intake or into the float bowl with a turkey baster.

Mary RayI have called and left a message for more information about this "shorty". Think it would make a cool tow vehicle for trailer.
Is fuel pump in tank or located on motor?

DougZAgain my sceptic nature kicks in. If everything else was good I would head up there with a new carb (assuming is is still normally aspirated), and electric fuel pump and a lot of steel and rubber hose along with a couple of in line fuel filters. It just worries me that there might be other gremilins hidden by the lack of gas. Even if it had to be repowered, it might still be a great deal if the chassis and interior are still in good shape.

For that year, there would be a mechanical pump on the right front of the motor. Barth liked to add electric fuel pumps near each tank. Probably to prevent vapor lock and make switching tanks while underway smoother. When the tanks were switched, a selector valve changed over, pumps were selected and indicator senders were selected. Sometimes return lines were selected at the same time.
I would guess, that if the mechanical pump on the engine were bad, it could be bypassed with a line and the electric pumps would do the job. My 502 guzzles happily (
sans mechanical pump) from the original Carter pump Barth Barth installed way in back.

Danny ZUnless things have been changed, the pumps should not be in the tanks. It should be a mechanical on the passenger side of the engine. An electric kicker could always have been added. If a person had a little time he could put a new pump on the engine and try it from an outboard tank of gas. If it ran this way you'd know there is a problem with the tanks or lines, which might not be that big a deal.

Shadow manIf it has been sitting for any length of time with untreated fuel, it has a good chance of just being gummed/varnished up. All it takes is a few months with our "modern" fuel.

MHoweWent and looked at this coach about a week ago while I was in the area. Needs some work, but the price is right. Will post highlights.
1. Exterior, good shape, no major dents. Hood is in the bathroom. Has wood grain on upper sides, brown area that will need to be removed. Windshield has some fogging on edges and a crack in lower driverside corner, not bad and not in line of sight. Not running, fuel issues.
2. Inside, not bad, looks to be mostly original. Carpet and seats dirty. Will need three panels in ceiling replaced due to water damage, although owner resealed roof and no musty oder. Newer fridge, coach air supposed to work. Never used the generator or stove, condition unknown, but they are still there. Water systems ???????
Overall, not a bad coach for the money. Thought of buying and splicing to mine to give me a 42' coach, NOT. Will try to post pics, and YES, I got the data tag!

MHoweOne other thing, not a 454, has 350. One more pick too.

MHoweCoach was sold, father of one of my friend bought it and it now resides back home in Indiana. Fixed fuel line, cleaned carb an drove it 3 1/2 hours with no problems. Bill can move this to sold, and don't forget to add Data tag to your collection.

We don't move sighting around like we do the ones that our members post.
I have no control over the sightings - I have pretty decent control over the For Sale Coaches.
Can you ask your friend to read the date on the top line. It's the date above 7-74.
Also ask him to verify the tag number as 7409157
