A couple of days ago I posted a news item from Yahoo regarding the actions of a off duty cop from Michigan visiting Calgary and his reaction to an incident in that city...and of the twitter reaction! The subject was about carrying guns in{to} Canada. That posting has now disappeared with no public explanation---it was not political or religious in nature but more about the freedom to speak to a stranger without fear. And the differences between our countries regarding guns! I invite comments.... _________________________ The 82 MCC {by Barth} is not an rv-- it is a Motor Coach!!

I didn't remove it, but it was later determined that the two individuals who approached this gent were, in fact, legitimately offering Stampede tickets. I read something on one of my news feeds about that. It appears that the individual, an American, felt uncomfortable with 2 people asking him if he wanted free show tickets. Some thought that if he had a gun he might have pulled it. I think it shows our cultural differences as 2 neighboring countries. There are only a few of us here who have the ability to delete things off our boards. I can tell you if Rusty didn't do, and I didn't even see the post, then perhaps while editing you hit the wrong button. Maybe when you posted it you hit the wrong button? I'm just guessing --- I have no clue.

RE: Maybe when you posted it you hit the wrong button? No...it was posted ok and I noticed that 6 people had viewed it!! I checked back a day later and then could not find it! ...maybe a Hacker Attack? The point I was trying to make was that IF you do come up to Canada to not bring any guns with you because if you do and you don't declare them... then when our border officials do a search of you and your RV and they find any then you will have to pay a hefty fine... maybe have you rv seized and sometimes jail time,,,you will be denied entry and escorted back to your border! _________________________ The 82 MCC {by Barth} is not an rv-- it is a Motor Coach!!

My experience has been that pistols are a no no and shotguns are just paperwork. Just read the law and follow it. I read the article, and it seemed the American was a little paranoid. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

Here is a source of what would appear to be some credible information regarding crossing into Canada with firearms: http://canada.usembassy.gov/tr...ons-into-canada.html not sure its true but heard a story circulating in the media here that a couple of our scruffy locals (and many are during the Stampede) wanted to offer the traveling American couple entry tickets to the Stampede. Not a problem to carry non restricted long guns in Canada but have not tried to figure out how to keep them aboard when crossing into the U.S.. The biggest problem may be coming back to Canada. 1987 Newell ~ 40ft Widebody 2x f/o's: 1988 Barth - 33 Ft. SE tag axle & 1976 Barth - 24 Ft.
