Moonbeam-ExpressWhere have I been?
The last 10 days were probably the longest I've gone without posting on BM. I was on the road doing the One Lap of America race/rally/endurance event. Although I brought my computer, the regime was too tight to ever find time to do any web browsing.
In 8 days we covered 4000 road transit miles, we raced 12 different races on sanctioned tracks (some were two in a day) and we competed at 12 different race tracks around the country.
The average sleep per night was about 4 hours, and that was if you didn't have mechanicals slow you down. We began in South Bend, Indiana at the Tire Rack skid pad (wet) and ended there on the following week (dry). In the middle we raced the little Porsche here:

Completing a One Lap makes me an official Lap Dog, during the event I was a lowly Lap Puppy.
Some of the interesting characters of the 75 teams we were with for the week, the grandson of the Red Baron, Jack Roush Jr, Leah Keen, Brock Yates Jr and Sr., three teams from Switzerland (Dubler Chocolate)and a large number of profession race car drivers from around the world.
Our car came in forth of six in class and 62nd overall. Not bad for a normally aspirated 31 year old car driven by two amateurs. I will definitely be doing this event again and plan to build a more competitive car.
Me with Brock Yates Jr. who now runs the event.
Racing the high banks of Daytona...
Me and the Baron...
Me and the guy that started it all, Brock Yates!
Jack Roush Jr. at Autobahn
650HP Nissan GTR doing 4 wheel burnouts
I'm a Lapdog now!

Marvin+DorisWow, cool. And you could almost qualify as a truck driver with all those miles! Now you got our Jaguar jealous, she would like to stretch her V12 legs sometimes!

Moonbeam-ExpressI don't think I got a picture of it, but there was a late model Jag in the event. The R something high-po version.

RustySo, if I interpret this correctly, you've been screwing off for over a week?

Moonbeam-ExpressRusty, you hit the nail on the head!
I've actually been screwing off for about 8 months, but this brought the art form to a new high

Unfortunately, Monday I start my new job

Yeah, way cool!
I am green (not like the Hulk) with envy.

Moonbeam-ExpressMy co driver's GPS says we covered a total of 5600 miles which includes transits, track time, to and from restaurants and hotels as well as driving the car to and from the start in South Bend. Should make my next RV trip seem like a cake walk!
