Hi, my name is Bill Bailey, I live in Bolton, CT and have a 1983 MCC Barth (no 44). I am interested in obtaining any information I can on this vehicle. If anyone can help, please advise how I might proceed. Any assistance is most appreciated. Thanks, Bill.

First off... Welcome. What is your complete data tag number? here is an example of what yours might look like if you have coach 0044 8407 0042 35RD B We have a coach number 42 that is an 85 and this would seem at odds with what we have. Coach 44 should be an 85. Maybe you have coach 34? In the above data tag example we can tell that this coach is a B floorplan and it was the 44th produced. What is the date of build? Better yet, can you take a picture of your tag and attach it to your next post or send it to me in an e-mail? bill_nybarthmobile What is your vin#? 1RP1A5865E1US1080 In the above Vin number example I can tell you the following about that vin# VIN 1RP1A5865E1US1080 DECODED 1984 Regency Rail Country UNITED STATES Make Regency Vehicle Type Incomplete Vehicle Model Rail GVWR Class Class 6: 19,501-26,000 lb Wheel Base unknown Engine Type 8.2L Detroit Diesel Brake System Hydraulic Check Digit 5 Model Year 1984 Assy. Plant Production Seq. Number US1080 Cab Type RV Series 35 Class Manufacturer Regency Products Inc. The more info you can supply us, the better we can help answer your questions. What info are you looking for? The quote "I am interested in obtaining any information I can on this vehicle." is pretty broad.

Hi Bill, It looks like you have No. 39, not 44. I believe there were only 39 MCC's ever built so that's very exciting to see the last one. My father has No. 0029. I'll be happy to trade pictures with you if you like. Joe Guillory joefwb1980@aol.com

At the time of the post, the OP stated he had #44. I was trying to get more info from him. After we got the complete data tag it was obvious he had coach #39. He has chassis/frame #44 in Barth coach #39. From what I can gather, frame #1 never made it off of the trial stages as it was reworked/tweaked again and then scrapped. From a phone conversation with Les Hoagland, he stated that the first chassis and body combo had a few problems in testing. So, they welded and rewelded several chassis and frame supports into place to see how a slightly different configuration would work. This made that frame illegal for road use. I believe, chassis/frame #2 was the first chassis that was attached to an MCC by Barth and sold to the public.

Bill: I live in Newington, CT, just down the road. I have an 84 MCC Regency, similar chassis as your fiberglass FMC. I recently purchased an original (not a copy) full service/shop/parts manual from the former FMC factory, where they were built, in California. It is VERY substantial, over-stuffing a 4" binder. Call me, 860-666-1158. Cheers, Chris Dutro

Hello, I've gotten two calls from FMC/MCC owners about this manual and have missed connections both times... sorry! My son took a message and I called back the number and got a fax tone, and left a message with the other. My plan is to scan the pages and make a PDF of the entire thing but that's not going to happen right away, too busy right now. If anyone needs a specific section, call me or drop me a note, I could take them to a copy center for you.
