Does anyone have the spare time to make me a copy of your Kohler 7KW service manual? I can e-mail a UPS pre-paid shipping label to you and mail funds for the cost of copying? Or maybe send me a scanned copy? Either I lost mine or it was never supplied with my Barth owners binder...would appreciate any help with this. Larry and Heidi from CA

I have a Kohler 7KW Generator Model 7CKM21-RV for my 1991 Barth. It is a K-582 air cooled, two cylinder, four cycle, gasoline engine. If it is a propane unit then it's a Kohler Generator Model 7CKM22-RV. Is this air cooled? Does it run on Gasoline or Propane? Can you read the model number on the generator? Both the gasoline and propane units use the same manual. Does any of this sound familiar to you? If this is it I have it. I could fax you the pages or send you a photo copy. I have already copied it and it's not out of the way to drop it in the mail if you would rather have a cleaner copy.

ahhh Bill comes to the rescue AGAIN..I have the air cooled propane unit. The ID plate is unacessible so I'm going to have to use a mirror to try and read it. It would be great if you could fax to:949.660.5664 and mail a copy to: TTSI 1300 Bristol St. N. Ste.100 N.B CA 92626 I was wondering how many oil drains are on this generator? I drained the oil from (1) allen plug on the bottom. Normally I run an engine before I drain the oil but in this case I didn't. When I refilled the crankcase with 4 quarts of new oil, it filled the engine all the way to the very top of the drain plug..(indicating overfilled) I'm just wondering if it's because the oil filter is completely empty? I have not started the generator yet.I think I know the answer but wanted to double check. Plus I'm trying to find a filter locally. Larry and Heidi from CA

I didn't notice if I had two plug wires...so I'm not sure if I have a 2 cylinder unit. Will look when I get home. Larry and Heidi from CA

I downloaded the manual for my '93 3.6 KW LPG Kohler from the company's website. Here are the links to the K582 engine PDF files. I was not able to locate the 7CKM21-RV or 7CKM22-RV generator PDF files. KohlerEngines.com K582 Kohler 23 HP, Gasoline or LP, 2 cylinder, 4 cycle, air cooled engine

The NAPA site lists their FIL1764 as the substitute for the Kohler 277233. The main difference seems to be the height. And NAPA says nothing about the presence of an ADB valve, which I consider important on a horozontal filter. The NAPA 1348 has an ADB valve. I am presently using a Champion PH400 on my 582. It has a pressure bypass and an anti- drainback valve. Very easy and reasonable to buy. Champion gets good ratings on the filter tester sites. It is 4.75" long. Next change will be to a Purolator Pure One PL10241, the same size as my BMW motorcycle, one son's Saturn, other son's Toyota. Pep Boys has the best price around here. HERE is an interesting article on oil filters. You might want to just skip to the OVERVIEW page for a quick read. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

The Kohler number on mine was a 52 050 02 oil filter, that crossed over to a 1348 Napa. Maybe the 1764 will fit. It might be a longer or narrower one. Maybe the shrouds around the mount has changed.

52 050 02 is the same part number I found on my Kohler filter. I decided to order several oil filters from this Kohler parts source: http://www.kohler-engine-parts.opeengines.com/index.php...8b1c81a31f6f60363189 I liked the options for shipping including USPS 2 day for $6.95 (2) filters was $13.96 Larry and Heidi from CA

Bill; I know this is an old OLD thread, but I came across it while doing a search for a Kohler 7CKM21-RV Service manual. Do you still have access to that manual? I have the manual for the engine, and for a 7CM21 Genset, but not the 7CKM21-RV. I think they are different because none of the photos or diagrams match what I have. The numbers are as folows Generator: Model: 7CKM21-RV; Spec: 140231 Ser: 261715 Engine: Model: K582EP Spec: 36376 Ser: 192312185 I am not a "techy", but I don't think I can receive a fax. We don't have a land line. If you chose to do so, is there another way to send me the manual? Thanks for any help, advice, or information you may wish to supply. Ken Gasbarri
