Just bought a 1978 27' a week ago (sorry, don't know a model name yet). I need to replace the side mounted radio antenna located at the driver's side just forward of the driver's window. I don't see any kind of fasteners apparent to remove to get at where the antenna wire comes into the coach. Is it possible that the padded vinyl is held in place by the aluminum window frame and nothing else?

Welcome to the Forums!

'78 Barths didn't really have a name, but yours would be a "pre-Regal", Barth's eventual name for its gaso-powered pullers.

Folks with coaches of your design can no doubt be more helpful, but if there are buttons on the pillar, they are snapped on to a screw, and can be pried off.

Not everything is straightforward in RVs, so it may be easier for you to attach a messenger to the old antenna cable, and thread it as you back the old one out.

Welcome to our site. I hope you have a great time here. You'll find lots of helpful advice just for the asking.

Dick Dubbs is currently stripping out a 77 Barth and might be able to offer advice. disassembling 1977 29' Barth coach

Thank you for filling out the data tag information. Based on this, I added in a picture of your coach to the Avatar section of your profile.

ps. just and FYI... your chassis is a P32. It does make a difference when you start looking for chassis parts.

Bill N.Y.:

Thanks for the avatar you added. You actually pulled the picture of the unit I bought, parked in its previous home's front yard. I have removed the top spotlight and airhorns for a sleeker profile. But I am still working on repairs and haven't had it done the road yet.

You might get a few requests for that spotlight or the controller...

Try not to throw anything out without posting it in the swap meet central forum first.

When you have an updated picture... I'll change the avatar for you. Computer
