This will show just how much of a green horn I am to RVing (and Barths). I was advised that I have a brake light out on the left side of my 94 Regency. Anybody out there know the size bulb I should get? Are there any peculiarities or problems in getting the red cover off to replace the bulb. Any tips, hints, etc. would be helpful in this "massive maintenance project". Thanks all! John

There should be just 4 or so screws to remove the lens. Chances are you will break the bulb taking it out, I always do. The numer for the bulb should be on the side of it. When you buy a new bulb get a little tube of the "bulb grease" (that's not at all what it's called). It will help resist moisture and will assist the next guy who may have to change the bulb.

My poor memory tells me it might be an 1157 or 1034. Pretty much the same. Lenses come off easily. Check for corrosion on the lamp base and socket, too. . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

Wait till you have to deal with a diesel mechanic then... Anyway, Bill H. is correct. You need an 1157 bulb and a Phillips head screwdriver - remove the lens and then grab the bulb and push inwards - a slight turn to the left and it should come out. If you break the bulb cut a potato in half and shove it into the remainder of the bulb - push in and turn counter clockwise. If that fails, use pliers. A dab of regular grease from a grease gun (you have one right?) or die-electric grease will do the trick. An 1157 has two nubs sticking out, one higher then the other, and should only go back in one way - if you put it in backwards your turn signal light will be no brighter then a marker light and if you turn on your headlights you will not see it flash.
