High Engine Idle
Second time I have exited highway and Cummins 8.3l diesel is idling very high - around 1400 rpm . First time was diagnosed by one technician as fairly new carpet installed was binding up the accelerator pedal. Even though I had used the Barth several times and hundreds of miles with no previous issue after carpet was installed. It went away after cutting away some of the carpet and again, several trips and hundreds of miles with no issues. Tonight it happened again - have checked pedal again and see nothing that appears to be able to make it stick. Have tried to kick it down but nothing will make it return to normal idle. In the middle of a trip with the next leg taking me through several small towns and afraid I might cook brakes or some other issue if I cannot figure this out. Appreciate the help.

My guess: Linkage pivot at the fuel pump slapped.

Don in Niagara
The engine speed on ours stuck at whatever speed I had her at when getting ready to head out of the driveway just 2 weeks ago.
Put it in neutral and had a look and found the linkage at the engine end stuck. A good lube of the linkage freed it up after working it by hand and she was OK again.
Likely due to the fact we have only had the Barth out one other time since getting home from Az last March. It had sat for about 3 months ... Toooo long!
It won't be sittin' for too much longer though, ... the cold weather's a comin'!!
