Aluminum Body Side Molding Pieces

I am looking to source these pieces - has anyone ever replaced these with new stock?

I can't tell exactly what you're showing here. Is this the channel that a rubber insert would fit into? We have a local place called Marine Surplus that gets leftover stuff from the boat builders. They carry a bunch of different moldings like this, but you would have to bring in a piece to match up.

BTW: The black plastic inserts are part#011-355-5 made by AP Products. It's 8' long, rigid vinyl insert for Elixir, 1/2" wide. 5 per tube. Product SKU: 31-1869 (311869)

I'm in the process of polishing mine and took the molding off. I think it looks better with it off but have yet to make a decision and may put it back on. You are welcome to it if I don't use it. There was another guy in SC that polished his and took the molding off, that's were I got the idea. You may be able to contact him and see if it is laying around his garage.

Do you happen to know who this other guy is?

I dont remember his name, I will try to find it. He was the guy that had two Barth's. He bought a 70's model,polished it and sold it. He also showed pictures of Airstream's he had restored, one was a turned into a portable bar.
