I have a new message on PM and once I have replied should the flashing Barth icon stop flashing??

and...I tried to send a PM to billNY but can't cause I have to allow somebody from my buddy list to go from one box to the other----since I have no buddies on here I can't use this to ask him a question which leaves me with the impression that billNY does not want any question directed to him through that medium....??? Smiler

Hit the reload arrow on the browser and the flashing should stop.

You have to add buddies; they don't automatically appear. To send a PM, one way is to click on the name on a post, click "Invite Xxx Xxxxx to a Private Topic", and popup window is for a PM.

What??? Confused

Out of everyone here, I'm about the easiest person to reach via PM. Computer

Look at my signature profile. You'll see the words....
Quick Link: Members Only Link To Send Me A Private Message

Just click the link and start typing.

Also, in the rare case that I don't use a signature profile, you can click on my name, at the left.

The 4th option down is a link to
"Invite Bill N.Y. to a Private Topic"

But, as a matter of record, when you first sign up here you can not just reach out and PM anybody but me, you'll need that permission. Post a few times and the site opens up to you or send me a PM and I'll review your request. This is for everyone's protection.

If you ask me a Tech Question I'll tell you the same thing I've said before. Ask the question in an open forum so everyone can benefit from the answer. Also, don't just take my point of view... others have different opinions on the same subject and might know a shortcut or have better sources than I do.

...and I was trying to contact BillNY from inside the PM but I could not.... [and guess that I can not]. The Pm I was trying to send was about the flashing icon but could not click on any thing to send to except a page telling me I had to have a buddy list [which I do not have] before I could post anything to anybody from with the PM framework~~~

Steve is SOOO Right!! Both moderators of this site have done an awesome job, not only as administrators, but as very knowledgeable experts. The double talents are beyond what we would expect and are very much appreciated.

Next step is to clear the internet browser cache. Assuming you're using IE, at the top toolbar click "Tools"/"Internet Options"/Browser History "Settings". Then delete Temporary Internet Files. If that doesn't work, you may have to return to this menu and delete cookies.
