I was wondering if anyone in the community here
could help me out by telling me where i might purchase the long "hard rubber" (?) fuel fill hose that runs from the cap to the tank?...a recent inspection found drips of diesel fuel and as i spied under the coach i found many many dry rot cracks on this tube and also the source of the leak,which was one of the cracks from which the diesel ran down. it looks relatively easy to change as there is nothing in the way,that i can see anyways,but ya never know what u get into till you actually do it. and has anyone else changed this?? thank you very much in advance!

Try NAPA; when I replaced the LPG genset in my Barth with a gaso Honda, that's where I got the filler hose for the new gaso tank.

AH thanks guys. i certainly will call on napa tomorrow. i just cant believe how many cracks it has on it and that it leaked. everything else underneath the coach looked great. any ideas to the cause? or any way to prevent this from reappearing?? cuz it looked very premature in it's aging. i know any type of armour all is a no no.

Perhaps an incorrect hose was used. For example, I have seen radiator hose used as filler hose. It worked for a while.

I use Goodrich Age Master for all rubber preservation. But, fuel filler hose is usually pretty durable on its own.

Even with the standard "aircraft-related" markup of a million percent, it seems awful expensive...

Then again, it IS good stuff.........

Kinda-sorta related, a friend recently bought a new Boston Whaler, and in a matter of months it developed gas leaks in the lines. BW said it was ethinol in the gas. They waurenteed it this time but told him they wouldn't again if he used gas with ethinol in it. All the stations I go to say there is may be up to 10% ethinol in their gas.
This sounds pretty wierd to me.

WOW! I had no idea it had gone so high. I was fortunate to acquire mine as scrap when de-icer boots went out. Fortunately, a little goes a long way. But owning British cars has made me a believer in the product. I believe no piece of rubber has to endure worse conditions than an inflatable de-icer boot on an operational aircraft stored outside in Burbank.

Something smells fishy here, and it isn't the catch. I would bet that someone along the line is not using the correct SAE/Coast Guard approved alcohol-resistant fuel line.

All sellers are adding alcohol to their gasoline. It is cheaper or as cheap for them to buy, but you use it faster, so you have to buy more.

Actually Bill, I was incorrect at $125.00/qt. That was last year... Aircraft Spruce & Specialty now wants $144.00/qt

At $576.00/gallon, one might think there's some gasoline in it........

This has become a major problem for boaters, old carbs with non-alcoholic gaskets, seats etc. Fuel tanks made of non-compliant resins. Many on water, add $0.50 to 0.75/gal, fuel docks carry gas with Valve-Tech and no ethanol. Generally this fuel is also 89 octane.
Trailer boaters eventually get everything retrofitted by finding the new problems.
