I have two questions concerning my 1993 38 ft Barth Regency. I have the electrical schematic from Spartan and there are two items I need to know about.
1. What is a V.I.M. and where would it be located?
2. Where is the ECU (Electronic (or Engine) Control Unit) located?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

ECM you probably do not have as the electronic controlled engines didn't arrive until '97 or '98.

Do not know what a VIM is. New term to me.

Please send me a copy of the electrical schematic - I'll take a look at it.

Could you mean VIN, Vehicle Identification Number? That would be located on your data tag and on the chassis.

Our Barth is an 8.3 with the allison of a 1993 vintage
The allison MD3060 transmission has an electronic control unit-- its located under the transmission control pad by the driver-- this is connected to a control box (contains 5 or 6 relays) that on our coach is located in the electrical box below the driver and is accessed from outside the coach
I have not had cause to find any other electronic control units as yet.

Regards Bud

Thanks,

I have found an Allison box in the electronic enclosure under the driver's seat. It is mounted on the underside of the body. It has a harness that appears to disappear into the back wall. I hope there are no components located in the space created by the driver's pedestal.

There are two connectors in the electronic enclosure which I would like to know about. On is circular, black and has multiple pins. It is similar to a military type connector. The other is rectangular and has a similar appearance to the diagnostic connectors on automobiles. Even though it has many positions for pins it only has a half dozen or so.
When I get a chance I will get pictures, count the pins, etc. and post what I find.

Either or both connectors could be diagnostic plugs.
