Is this the same type of serial number tag that you see? For a 1976... Would you please tell me what your numbers are? We can decode these for you and give you a rundown of what you have.

My 84 P30 has a single number, the VIN number on a metal tag with raised numbers riveted to the center of a crossmember located 6 inches forward of the radiator. It is visible with the grille opened. Some earlier ones have a plate mounted just below the master cylinder that has the Vin number and GVWR. FWIW, Here is a scan from my Chevy MH manual: . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

yes my tag looks just like that but does not say "vin" on the second number. So here is the serial number AND then the "vin"? s77022114mc27s-6 then cpy3773310185

Yes. That is correct. Here is your vin# decoded. You have a P-32 Chassis Model so your coach has a 454 engine. Your tag number places your coach at 27 foot. Could you snap a picture of this for me? Something might be off a little and I would like to see it. A photo, or two, of your coach would be nice too. Bill_nybarthmobile

I Some P Barths have 350 engines. Does the decoder make mention of that? . 84 30T PeeThirty-Something, 502 powered

For that vin# the decoder shows 2 motors... a 454 GM or a 3208 Cat. For a P32 Chassis it only showed a 454 being offered. For a truck chassis it shows a 3208. Don't ask me why, I'm just as perplexed? I'm just reporting what it shows, that's why I left the image link in that post. I found it odd that this vin# could have shown 2 different motors, but it did make a P Chassis Difference being noted for a 454 only. In regards to the 350, sure it could have one in a P32. But that didn't show up as an option in the decoder for that vin#

You have a 13 digit vin# that was used prior to 1981. All vin#'s now are 17 digits. Here is a link to decode your 13 digit vin Vin Decoded Is it possible for you to send us a photo of your coach and data tag sticker?
