Bill N.Y.The question is... has anyone replaced just one section of the multi-gauge?
With the key off, the fuel gauge is stuck on full.

Jim and TereI have almost all the maintenance records and there is no indication that anyone replaced any part of the multi-gage unit. The last time I drove it about 4 weeks ago, the forward tank was registering correctly. The rear tank seemed questionable since the gage never left full when on the rear tank, even though I drove about 50 miles on the rear tank. Tere checked the wires from both rear and mid tanks and they seemed ok. She also took out the selector switch to see if there were any loose wires and there seemed to be none. What next? Try to access the rear of the multi gage and see what's what?

Jim and TereAre these hard to find? I tried to look on Summit Racing for a whole instrument panel but there wasn't anything that looked like this. I'll try PPL today.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

If you have a good junkyard around, especially one of the U-Pick type, look at the Dodge vans & trucks around your vintage. The temp control panel is definitely Mopar and the cluster looks familiar too. Otherwise, take the picture to your local Dodge dealer.

Danny ZThe panel looks identicle to mine, and most chevys from those years, so I have a hard time believing it's a Mopar unit.
Also my gauge only works on the rear tank. When on the front tank it pegs full all the time. On mine the needle goes further than yours in this position, all the way to the F. With a full rear tank it reads just as yours does. It's always been that way and I just work around it on the road by figuring approximate miles while on the front tank and never burning off more than about 20 gallons. I always keep a good preservative [Gasshok] in it since it never runs dry and gets all new gas.

Jim and TereWell, I guess the basic question is what does the instrument panel come from? Mopar or GMC?
Thanks

lenny and judyI have only one tank mileage will be different but I drive 100+miles before mine starts to show any movement.I fill up every night and it takes 25 gallons each night I have all ways put in less than 30 gal. How much do you drive on the front tank before it starts to move?

Jim and TereWell, as the saying goes, "Read the instructions, stupid". The owners manual that came with the Barth,(Forward Control Models Owners and Drivers Manual) states that the needle of the fuel gage will not necessarily return to empty when the key is turned off. In addition, Lenny and Judy said that they drive up to 100 miles before the needle moves off the "full" mark. So, we drained several gallons out of the mid tank, and found that the needle came down from the full mark. We couldn't siphon anything out of the rear tank due to a crimp in the fuel filler hose, but I had only driven 50 miles after filling that tank. So, we know that the midtank sending unit and gage work. We'll just wait and see about the rear tank. We get about 10 MPG so we'll run the rear tank maybe 250 miles before refilling. The mid tank will show on the gage. Thanks for all the help.
Jim

BarthBluesmobileThe instrument cluster has a sticker on back, with "UK" in large letters, and, in a smaller font "AC-MADE IN U.S.A" and also "25046469".
