Is it just my new computer? When i look at the topics to see which ones have new posts, they are all the same, none are a different shade/color to show what is new. Confused

See if this comes up. Posting has been slow lately, so maybe nothing new has come up so the Barth isn't colorized to tell you something new is up. Or something like that. Razzer

He has a new computer. It would be the same as if you looked at barthmobile.com from your friends house.

Everything is new to a new computer... likewise, everything will show up as a new post. All the same color.

When I go from laptop to desktop, it takes a while for the site to recognize what I have viewed and what I have not

People seem to be almost as loyal to their computer brads as their RV brands. For me, its got to be a HP laptop and a Blackberry. In the business world these are the "accepted" tools. God forgive the business guy that shows up with a MAC or a I-thingee. The Blackberry is about as high performance as a 64 Austin Healy, but somehow that only adds to the mystique that your all business - no play. Some guys secretly carry the I phone and use it when no colleagues are looking Cool

Even though I have a new HP laptop, I have no loyalty toward it. It is a functional assemblage of generic Chinese components, and works OK.

What I really have is an abiding disloyalty to Microsoft. I despise that company and its products. I have never had anything that was as failure-prone as Windows, starting with 3.0 and all the way up to 7. I don't like their products or their business practices.

I think it went south shortly after Bill Gates claimed that 64K was enough for anything.

And that was 64K RAM!

I've built my own desktops since '91; that way I can choose components based on performance and reliability rather than price.

I've had an HP laptop; power switch failed - HP wanted $250+ to fix it. Had three Dells; they have the best service. I still have one, now my backup laptop. My most-used is an 8-year-old Panasonic Toughbook. It's durable, powerful enough for most of what I do, and has the battery life of a netbook.

Everything is on XP.

We have been 100% MAC in my business for five years. We run 4 I-Macs 1 Mac Mini and 1 MAC Mini Server. They run 24/7 and all connect to the MAC Mini Server. Every now and then we restart one but it is very rare. We run Quickbooks for Windows in a virtual machine within the MAC just because Quickbooks for MAC still sucks. I love it when I open the lid up, the machine wakes up instantly and I am online in seconds! Just my $.02 everybody is different. I don't have an iphone yet just because until recently you had to be on AT&T's terrible 3G network. Now that they are on Verizon, I am considering getting one, maybe next year when the 4G LTE build out is almost complete, until then my Droid kicks behind!
Happy Barthing!
