My 85 Regal has a buch of interior lights that have small bulbs, two in each light. Has anyone found a replacement for these that bulbs that doesn't get so hot? Also, one of the light covers is missing and I haven't been able to find a replacement from current suppliers of these lights. Any help there?

What number bulbs do you have? Single or double contact? Reflector or non-reflector?

Absent that information, the simple thing is to go to a parts store with your old one and buy one that looks like it will fit and has lower current.

Like Bill said. Go down to the local Pep Boys or Napa and tell them what you want with the bulb in hand. Keep in mind that the lower watts will give you a dimmer bulb.

Have you given any thoughts to changing them over to another type of light? I mounted a regular household style light (wall sconce) into one of my 12v harness and have a 12v ruff service lightbulb (for a drop light) mounted in it's socket it looks real nice.

I bought this one at lowes in light white frosted (not gold). They have a blue coated one as well.

Go to Google.com and click on the images link - type in sconce lighting and check them out. There are some neat lights that would look great inside of an RV.

Speaking of sconces, if you haunt eBay, you can find some lovely brand new stuff. We have a couple that are absolutely beautiful, new in box, no less.

We're trying to keep ours absolutely original. Everything in it, down to the bedspreads, is like it came out of the factory in 1985. That's why I'm looking for a light cover. Anyone out there have one from a light they replaced with a newer style? Speaking of the bedspreads, the navigator decide to run them through the washing machine at the daughters place in Tennessee and air dry them in that fresh Tennessee air. But she didn't talk to the resident Jack Russell, who decided to chew about 6 holes in both bedspreads. Give me a gun, to h--- with the dog! Now the navigator has to somehow repair the damage. Anyone have a couple of original bedspreads from an 85 Regal out there?

Ok, I think I have what you're looking for. My 91 had a couple of light covers that I kept to the side when gutting my interior. Send me a picture of what you're looking for.

The covers I have are rectangle. The bases are made of a gold piece of stock channel and the 1156 bulbs are attached to a sliding switch that allows 1 or all the lights to come on inside.

I was going to mount them inside of one of my service trucks but if you're looking to keep yours all original then "your trek" is more important then me reusing old lights. I have a 72 SS Nova and know all about trying to chase down THE right part.

I'll have to look but I should have them in the garage. It's pouring rain right now but should let up later. I will check then and give you what I can if your picture matches up with what I have.

Does it look like the one in the upper center of this pic? What are the measurements? Are you looking for anything else? The wife has informed me that "this is the year" ( Wink so was last year Wink ) I have to clean out the garage.

Bill, I think what I'm looking for is what you discribe. It looks like the center light in your picture. I'm in Charlotte w/o the Barth until Wednesday. I'll email you dimensions and a pic then. Can't think of anything else now but will let you know in a few days. Thanks again.
Jim

Well it stopped raining and I was able to get down to the garage. I have 4 bases and 3 lense covers. The lens cover is 4 1/2" x 12" and unlike yours mine has three bulbs inside of it.

If you think these will work after you measure it then you can have it. Need a mailing address and I'll get it out to you right away. If these won't work or someone else really needs them let me know.

If you look at the bottom of the picture you will see a sliding switch. Center position is off. One way puts on center bulb and the other way turns on all three bulbs.

Most of the time I leave it on bright and just operate the wall switch to turn it on and off.

Not required but thank you for the offer. Would you like the whole thing or just the lens? Do you need more then one? If I'm going to break up the set does anyone else need one?

You can private message or email me (below) if you don't want to display your home address for others to see.

All I need is the lens. Maybe someone else could use the base. On the other hand, if your base is a 3-light base, I'd love to have it. Would provide a little more light. The Tennessee address is home while we're awaiting the arrival of the triplets. The daughter is into her 21st week now and they are going to try to get her to 32 weeks. A friend who has triplets said that once they're born, we won't be seen for three or four years. So, maybe this will be our new home. The Barth is here and we're going to use it for short get aways to take a break from mucking, cutting and hopefully, rocking babies.

Yes Bill I would be interested in 2 of the three bulb fixtures w/lenses if they are available. If someone else needs parts 1 would also be great. My address is
245 Rounds St. New Bedford, Ma. 02740

That's all three of the complete ones. The only thing left is one of the bases without a lense.

To humbojb: What's your last name Jim?

I'll get these lights out this week to both of you.
