I noticed a slight leak under StaRV II on my way back from stargazing; it's from the fresh water tank area - there's a steel box that has partially rusted through. The question is, does anyone know the composition of the fresh water tank - is it steel? Or is this just a box holding a plastic tank...? Welcome back to the forum Rusty. How's your vacation going? My tank is how you just described it. I found a spot that was soft from the band strap holding it down. Because it was loose it rubbed the plastic tank down a little. If I didn't catch I would have had a leak.

I've been under the Barth again (this time in my yard, not a Lowe's parking lot). Even though the tank was nearly full, there was no leaking. However, it looks like the tank itself (since I seen only a fully welded steel box) is all-steel. Anyone have info on this? It's not anything like I've seen on other M/Hs.... Could it have been the overflow/vent line. How about condensation? Bill N.Y. | |||

The leak appeared to come from inside the steel box, where there's considerable rust at the drain line connection. it may be a loose connection at the drain line fitting, but I need to do some prep work first. I need to get rid of the rust and see what I can see...
