Wow, moss doesn't grow under your feet. How long have you been haunting our site as a guest/future Barth owner?

I only found this site a few days ago, but have loved Barths for years. I saw a very early Barth in upstate NY about 15 years ago on vacation (it was probably a 1966 or so) near Lake George. Having converted a 1964 school bus in the 70s, I was well versed in rugged versus pretty in RVs and the Barth managed to cover both worlds!

When looking for an RV this time around I almost got taken on a 1995 American Flyer with 50K on EBay. When the owner wanted to "go over the pictures" not previously seen I was a bit suspicious. When I saw the picture of the driver's side at an angle, it showed every rib under the skin! I surmised the steel frame was corroding and pushing the glass panels out. I couldn't believe this was brought up just a day prior to flying down to pick the rig up and then the guy told me he had been snookered by a dealer in Florida who told him it was sun damage and nothing to worry about. So he clearly knew the damage was there all along!

After this close call, I decided I would find a Barth and spend the extra $37K to buy some peace of mind.

One interesting side note occurred about a year ago when I was telling a friend about the cool old Barth I'd seen years before in upstate NY. I went on EBay to look for a picture of a similar one and there was the one I had seen years before for sale. It had to be it as it looked identical and was being sold in Schroon River Valley, right where I saw it years before. What a coincidence, but life has many of those.

Anyway, here I am about to be a proud Barth owner. I sold my 1979 MCI MC5C tour bus last year as it was a huge project I didn't have time for. I would have loved it too, but I have run out of "project" time in my life.
