Lance WaltonPower Steering Fluid Change
The Spartan chassis manual for my coach stipulates that I am to change out the Power Steering/Fan fluid at certain intervals. It is not clear that it is calling for more than the fluid in the reservoir to be changed. Does anyone know if I am to also drain all lines, fan, etc.? If so what is a good procedure to do so?

Bill N.Y.There is a few psi couplers on mine to do a forced fluid change. How you would do it by yourself, without that unit, is a little more difficult.
You got 38' of coach - fluid goes to the steering gear box and then back - round trip is over 80' of hose when you add in the fan clutch, - I would think the hoses would carry more than 80% of all the fluid in the system. Just changing out the reservoir isn't enough if you're looking for a thorough job.
Trying to do this, by yourself, might be too much unless you're willing to drain out the supply and return lines.
Don't forget the filter. I think, in your case, the filter for the system is inside the reservoir housing.

Lance WaltonYou have pretty much echoed my concerns. Due to the length of the hoses and the fact that it services the fan and power steering makes this a fairly complicated job. I have made the decision to do as much of the maintenance on the coach myself but there are some things that I should not try to do and this is one of those. Thanks for your input.
