Last Fall, about 1 week from winterizing, I noticed water leaking from around the top or head of my fresh water pump.

It will be out of storage here in a few days as the last of the below ZERO days are going to be replaced with near 50's.

Is there anything "serviceable" around the "top" or "head" of the water pump, such as a gasket or diaphram or anything replaceable that might be causing the leak???

I have not yet looked that closely and thought I would get some preemptive suggestions...

Medic37, Just went thru this scenario. Water pump started leaking from the top while in Florida. I replaced the water pump at a cost of about $100.00. When I got home I found out that there is an overhaul kit for the pump that is about $30.00. the kit basically replaces everything but the motor. I bought a kit and installed it on the old motor and now have a backup pump for the spare parts box. Replacement kit takes about one minute to install. Unscrew 6 screws out of top of pump. Throw everything away. Put new assembly in place and install 6 screws.

As long as it didn't freeze and crack, the rebuild kit should do it. Smiler

I'm pretty certain it didn't freeze, but that is definitely something I will check.

Thanks for the info. Will probably get to-it in the next few days!

Removed and disassembled the water pump today:

SHURflo Extreme Series Smart Sensor 5.7 5900-0211

Have searched up and down on-line for a "rebuild kit" -or- specific parts:

94-030-00 Valve Assembly
94-030-01 Drive Assembly

Cannot seem to find these parts or rebuild kit anywhere. Nick Cagle or anyone else have a source for SHURflo replacement parts???

Mac, I just carried the old pump into the RV dealer near me and they had a kit in stock. I think it was 29.95.

Finally stopped out to the dealership on Friday and inquired about a rebuild kit for my leaking SHURflo 5900 water pump.

I was told that SHURflo does not sell the parts for that pump.

Hmmm... I'm pretty certain that I had found what I was looking-for at ONE marine supplier on-line, but there appeared to be a significant mark-up.

I decided that I would clean-up the internal parts, reassemble the pump, re-connect it and give-it another try [maybe it fixed itself?]. In the process of cleaning the diaphram, I noticed wear and the posibility of penetration thru the rubbery material it is made from [so much for fixing itself].

I am going to look for just the diaphram and consider an on-line purchase if the price is right for the single item, otherwise, I have found the same pump for as low as $145 shipped [and as high as $300], so it might be a case of just replacing the pump. Confused

I replaced our SHURflo with an mulit-speed Aquajet. I thought it was less money for more pump. Not only that it will run at 80 pounds of pressure if you like. Makes it work good for RO units.
